DO NOT SAY THE "S" WORD. I need at least another 2-3 weeks. Lawn/deck/pool furniture is still outside, no leaves removed, Old Mule is still at the in-laws, and the shop door is blocked with junk

I don't think it's a sore subject, as much as we all completely understand where you're coming from. And enjoying poking you. COme on, you have to know by now, that if you crack the door, we're going to take our shots  Except Uncle Willie, I think he's far enough south to never really worry about the "S".

Took a cautionary trip to the ER, woke up to go to the bathroom at 4 AM and I was “off kilter”. They did a CT and said that they confirmed I have a brain. ;)

Doctor said no issues, could have been later symptoms of mild concussion, just take it easy. ER nurse said I have a hard head.

Glad you are officially OK.

I shudder to think what the true level of inactivity is for for you, on the "take it easy" scale.

You might find some Martha reruns somewhere on YouTube that you can watch during your convalescence.;)

After my head injury the doc sat me down for 4 weeks. It was horrible. No driving, very little walking, absolutely no lifting. Worst 4 weeks ever.

There's nothing better then doing absolutely nothing....but only when you want to. Forced to do nothing it's the worst.

My GF asked me why I wasn’t wearing one, I said that it isn’t common practice to wear one when opening up a trailer. I just need a thicker head. ;)

I have learned my lesson, it could always be much worse. ;)

Today I get my toof fixed.

The. I have a fence crew showing up for the new tower, been waiting almost three months now. They need me to show them the layout and to find the propane lines, electrical lines, and fiber optic lines. We may have to modify the fence layout based on these locations, and it will be annoying for some people, but I don’t see how I can make it happen safely without these modifications.

Then in another situation, I get a call from a tower customer (the DEA) and they tell me that my contract is in jeopardy due to the fact that I own and operate equipment from one of more Chinese companies? I explain that I don’t operate any telecommunications equipment at all, I just provide the towers. Apparently in December the government added a question to the database, instead of asking people to answer it, they populated the answers automatically and it now says that we operate this type of equipment. Trying to undo it is a real PITA, I don’t know why the government has to make things so difficult. :(

And the knot is still pretty noticeable.

And now we know how you can afford all of these trailers, you're selling drugs for the Chinese government.

How long has the DEA been using your tower and they all the sudden come up with this BS!

Hope your eye and head get better, you serious look like you got the $hit beet out of you somewhere. I am glad that didn't do some serious damage to you.

Are you going to fly the drone and take some pictures while they put the fence in?

They called you? You answered questions from the "DEA" over the phone?

Dam that eye looks like it still hurts and that lump.... Glad it wasn't worse.

DEA has been there for a long time, probably 30 years.

Eye doesn’t hurt, that is just from the lump dissipating back into my face.

I have a tooth again, also got the fence layout done so they can start working on that. I have a few things to do at the Hill today, we are supposed to get some cold overnight temps and I need to keep things from freezing. Also wanted to try and get some antifreeze into the camper, hopefully I will have time for that today too.

What does the DEA need/use a tower site for?

Do I need to get my tinfoil hat on? Kinda chilly for that today, Lol.

They still use radios on a private frequency, no tinfoil needed. ;)

My unloaded my big tekton wrenches, they are pretty darn nice for the money, the edges are smooth and feel nice in your hand, much better than some of my other wrenches. They only offer up to 50MM and 2", so I still have some larger ones to acquire, but having decent ones is what I was after. I am also going to order some of their 3/4" drive chrome sockets, they have deep and shallow for a decent price, I don't own hardly any deep 3/4" drive and I figure those will be useful in the future as well.

I am currently filling the water tanks under the house so I can switch to winter water, I can see that I need a new pressure tank, probably get a pump too. I figure if I can set things up right, one pressure tank will work for both summer and winter water. I also need to replace the water heater and do some plumbing work, along with electrical, and reworking the cable lines. I could spend a couple days down there, but for right now I just have to get things operational and keep the water from freezing.

I want to get everything I can ready for winter before I start on "inside" projects, why waste decent weather, right?

It looks like the next couple weeks will still be in the low 50s, minus the hour of daylight we lose in the afternoon. Generally I get really productive with either like that, I am not a fan of heat or humidity, almost as much as I am not a fan of snow. I have to pull the motor out of the Cascadia this weekend, my buddy needs it for his truck and that was part of the deal. Hopefully it won't be too bad, I really want to try and do it right where it sits rather than bringing it inside, that will involve the tru-hitch, so I would have to disconnect from the other truck and reconnect things to the Cascadia. Whatever needs to be done though, the tower project will be put on hold for a week, Dad said he didn't care about the steel being damaged, so I may try and pull the tower sections over on their sides, should make things much easier for sure. No matter what, I know I can make it happen, in fact, I think I just came up with a better and easier idea. Will explain when I try it, with pictures too.

I think the engine pull will be fine where the truck is, hood is basically ripped off and only held on by two bolts, once that is out of the way things should be fairly easy to get to.

Ron, the truck was purchased for parts, wheels and tires might get sold, the traction tires are all retreads, since I don’t drive a lot, I prefer good virgin tires, if I did drive a lot, they would work well for me. The fuel and hydraulic tanks will get used and the rears will either be used or traded for ones I can use. The rest of the cab will go to the big truck salvage yard.

Got the water tanks filled, draining back the line, I may run the air tank on it as an extra precaution, but it back feeds pretty well.

I am over at the SG now messing with the camper, seems to be completely drained, so I am not going to worry about it this minute, I need to see underneath, but it is pretty wet and I don’t feel like crawling in the mud. I did get the slide out closed up, that way there won’t be any snow or any ice on it. We are only supposed to get one night of cold and then the days are supposed to be above freezing, then it goes back to about the 50s in the daytime with 30s at night.

I got all the hoses and pressure washer stuff inside up at the Hill as well as the water swapped to winter, that was the most important thing of all.

I'm getting heartburn just looking at that. It sounds like it was a decent day, even if you were taking it a little easy.

So I can't believe that no one asked if that big beam was okay? LOL! We're glad you only suffered a flesh wound, that could've been much much worse. Harry

The beam couldn't stop laughing, I threatened to cut it in half, then it became a little more compliant.

You never know when your life is going to take a turn. One Sunday night my wife noticed a gray curtain dropping over one eye and we called the eye doctor group. Saw the doctor that night and she was having retinal surgery the next morning. The surgery was successful but she had to lay face down in bed for two weeks (face in a foam donut). Three months later the retina detached again and this time he injected oil instead of air. two more weeks face down in bed, followed two months later with a final surgery to drain the oil. Eleven years later she still sees the occasional oil droplet float by.

Bob, life is a funny thing for sure, I have had a few bumps in the road, but all problems are relative. There is always someone (thinking of your story) that can put things into perspective making you realize that you are not really doing that bad, even when it feels like it. I try and keep my head up, even when a lam beam is beating me down. ;) Your tenacity has made a lot of people think long and hard about their lives and how they live it.
