if you was closer I would wonder more about that 140 but Maine is a long long trip for me and there are others who would want it way more than me.

you could put a sign on porch door saying please put packages inside to avoid the weather!

For a second i was looking at the new 2 post lift without overhead and underneath cables and thinking mohawk, but then noticed it was 2 forklifts. Nice trick. I need 2 now, instead of 1. :(

Late start this morning, going to try and stick to only office work, but I do have some errands to get done as well, either way, I want to take it easy so my back doesn't get worse. right now, knock on wood, it feels ten times better than yesterday.

Making a slow dent in the paperwork, really tough since the office has been in a shambles for months due to the move and some IRS changes. It looks like I have to go back to February to get everything reconciled, most of the big entries are in, but nothing has been filled, except random boxes.

I blame myself, should have said no to the office move as it was clear I wasn’t going to get any help, now I am paying for it. :(

I was trying to put books on the book cases, but I can’t seem to locate all the shelf brackets, hopefully they will turn up this afternoon.

I finally figured out what the problem was with the reconciliation, there was a check that had been accidentally marked as cleared, then there was a difference in the same check's amount, not even sure how that happened, but I rectified it so things match the statement, so far so good. I want to get the checking account statements reconciled to current before I go and do anything outside. It is a bit chilly, so giving it some time to warm up is not the worst idea in the world anyways.

I can see I have to get everything inside that can freeze, then I wanted to try and do some things at the SG, would be nice to get the rest of the rollers out of the shop and have all my space back. Also have a burb load of things to bring over there.

I spent a good two hours trying to figure it out, frustrating, but I got it. Now everything is current through today. I hate it when I get behind, but the office transition has really messed with my flow. :(

I got my chimney pipe, hopefully I can get this fixed next weekend, waiting until Buck is back, should make the job a lot easier than doing it from a ladder.

Fresh make up air vent. Helps with the combustion of un-burned gases.

It has worked fine like that for a while, another week or two should be fine. ;)

Apparently I tossed some things from the Quonset hut that Dad wanted, I just blamed Jack Stand and Orion, worked perfectly. :)

Got some ideas for the SG, I think I may spend a couple evenings over there later this week, would be nice to have some extra working space, probably means taking a couple more Lista cabs up to the Hill. Also Dad has agreed to let me move his tool boxes out of the shop and into the Quonset hut! That will gain me some serious space for sure.

Unfortunately Ron, I don't have the equipment to do it safely. I planned on either using Clark or load them onto the back of the 550, both are not available yet. :(

I still have more paperwork to do, my GF is coming up this afternoon to help file things, then I will spend the evening trying to get things wrapped up. The accountant is coming in on Tuesday, so I should be ready, I think I have about 5 more hours of data entry, at least based on how long it took the yesterday.

The great thing is that I am actually looking at things in a positive way, the power situation in the other office should be essentially completed next week, that means that they can start working on the actual office soon after. I still have a ton of things to do involving the other office, but they don't need to be done this second. My plan had been to have things finished by Spring and move the office (again) once the snow is gone.

Also things seem to be coming together nicely all around, the house on the Hill is starting to feel doable, would love to move in by January, but I am not rushing it. The SG shop space is going to be fairly ready and the same with the Hill. The quonset hut is just about done and that means I can let Dad and my Cousin deal with it after that.

As for outside storage, that is a bit of a different story, I have to get all my trailers put away over at the SG, the Hill needs a bit of work, mainly the blue hydraulic tail trailer, it needs to go to the SG, but I have to pull the tail off and secure all the hydraulics first.

Then we have the tower site, I have to finish dismantling steel and breaking up concrete, then figure out how I am getting the one building that I am keeping back to wherever I am keeping it (haven't decided that yet). I think I need a week shuffling things for outside storage and a week at the tower site, then a few days to get equipment moved around. So I need until the second week of December to be safe, so far next week looks good, we will have to see how much I can get done, my back/neck are still bothering me, so that is a plus! :(

Today is going in a different direction than originally anticipated, but it is going well overall. I should have the office essentially setup after tonight, something that should have been done months ago. I am currently working on moving things out of the entry way and house that shouldn’t be in here. I may end up bringing the camper up here to load things up, it is the only “enclosed” trailer I have that is easy to load up.

After this week, I would like to have a full game plan on the house and start moving forward on upgrading the plumbing, removing the flooring, leveling the subfloors and taking down walls. Once things are more open, it should be easier to make some decisions on dimensions of new spaces and layout of the kitchen.

Getting there, must have emptied out a dozen bins this afternoon. Still have plenty of work, but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope to get some shelves and bins mounted on the wall before I leave tonight, that should make a huge difference with the overall feel of things. Tomorrow morning I am getting help for an hour or so, trying to get the rest of the files and books out of the other office, then it will be totally ready for the contractor.

Looking good. Glad the "defeated" feeling is gone. Nothing stops my progress more than feeling like not knowing where to start or doing a ton and not getting anywhere.

ps - that vinyl flooring sure gives me flashbacks.

But you like the wall paper, right?

I love what you have done with the white board. It really opens up the the entire room.

Actually the wall paper oddly goes well with the "graige" color of the bookcases and lateral files.

A nice window valance will really bring the room together.

Kind of reminds me of GM office buildings before they went through and spent tons of money remodeling. Everything had the 70's cube farm look. And now no one goes there.

Looking good! I would suggest getting a second monitor for your Mac/PC. Trust me you will love it! Keep email open on one side/work, then the other monitor fully dedicated to GarageJournal!:lol_hitti

But seriously, it is very, very nice having dual monitors.

Looks better than my office. I lost that when my oldest son moved in from AZ. He left and there was hope of getting it back, then my oldest daughter moved in, she left, then my (at the time) youngest daughter moved in, she left and then Victoria hatched. I may never have an office again.

I can't complain too much, it is a decent space, workflow is fine for the fact that I tossed it together quickly. Once the other office is done, I am not really sure what my plans are, if Dad still kicks me to the curb, I may move my office back to the SG. I know my GF is looking forward to having a dedicated space for her crafting, without that, she would go stir crazy and I would hate myself. ;)

I may end up using the "eBay trailer" as a full office, kind of dual purpose thing. Although there is still a possibility that I can use half of the other office like I original did, all depends on Dad I guess.

I am 4.25 hours into my latest office round, I think I can finish it in an hour, so pretty close to my 5 hour guesstimate. Then I have to eat lunch, then go and buy a small heater, the office is the only area where the electric baseboard isn't working and since it is in the back, it is a lot colder than the front. My toes are numb and I am sure the accountant is going to be cold too.

Gray+beige = "graige" actually a real paint color. AKA cube-farm color.

my co-workers and I actually discussed dressing in office "graige camo" clothes for Halloween. But we decided that was too festive, if not too much effort for a lousy work place. So everyone dressed in stripes like prisoners. LOL we even made up "killer" nick names: "Sheri the shank", "Magnum Mark" etc

As for guys decorating, I think we could do marvelous things with "paisley" for Strouty's office.

I knew it was a color, my comment was directed more at the window treatments. I didn't even have curtains till Steph. I had a sheet over the bedroom window. Somehow that doesn't fly with women folks.

550 is on hopefully the last test drive, mechanic said after new turbo was installed it still didn’t make any boost, so he did some more messing with it. Old turbo looks like it has been bad for a while. All the damage was on the exhaust side, so you wouldn’t normally see it.
