All I can say right now is wow, just wow. Town Fair tire told me they would price match tires on eBay as long as they were from a tire dealer, not Joe Q. Public, so I asked them is simple tire acceptable, they said absolutely. I told them the price, they said they would beat it by 5% and all I had to do was bring in the print out of the tires. Well, I showed them that, guy tells me, no problem I will go to simple tire’s website, I tell him that is an eBay price through their store and the website wasn’t the same. He then tells me “I told you I wouldn’t match eBay, I would only match simple tire and these are clearly from eBay”. I then said they are sold by simple tire, he said it doesn’t matter, so I tell him that isn’t what you explained. I told him he could shove his tires up his ***, he said have fun driving home. I told him efff off. Going to call their corporate headquarters and see what the policy really is.
Time to bust out my clearance snow removal tools, be curious to see how well they work. Didn’t pay much, but the original asking price was awful. I think I bought three different things for $140, two are cordless. One is corded. Spring clearance and sit in them, now they could be useful.

To be fair, I was a ****, but I had also made it clear what I was asking to be price matched. I don’t usually lose my cool like that, but two things set me off, first he lied to my face, second, I drove an hour in white out conditions. Made me a bit irritable to say the least.

So reading that time is a precious commodity in terms of pressure from dad and just the list of stuff to do. How much of that time is wasted documenting every stinking move made during the day? Stop taking so many pictures and updating the details of the day and concentrate on getting your $h*t done.

Sorry - But this behavior has to be significantly cheaper and even less time consuming than seeking help and therapy from a trained medical professional.

No Bro time, this storm is still dropping a few inches and hour and he couldn’t break free. I totally understand, another day.
As for taking time to document things, this is my form of journaling, it is worth more than the time it takes to be able to go back and see what I have or haven’t done. I also don’t feel like an excessive amount of time is spent taking pictures, especially when I would have taken them anyways, posting is very simple and I look at it like the same thing as talking to a coworker at the water cooler. Besides, sometimes I need a break and this is a nice way to take it.

The battery snowblowers have a big issue, the batteries are junk. I did some research and it seems that if you don’t keep them charged, they die and don’t come back. One wouldn’t take any charge and the other took enough to make the blower spin for about a foot, then just the light worked. It is a huge problem based on all the negative reviews.

And yeah, it makes total sense to shove everyone in the country in an electric car.... I'm a little bitter about it. I develop engines.
With these batteries, it is just about the pack design and use of cheap cells. If you let them sit, they will discharge. People complain about it all over the net, I am going to measure the voltage and see, a guy that seemed a bit more knowledgable than your average youtuber had one that was at 4.5 volts and by charging it to 12 volts and putting it on the 40 volt charger right afterwards, got the battery to charge and stay holdign the voltage after 12 hours. The other pack was at o.o and it was doomed. The two packs I have are both technically brand new, so if they have any voltage, I will probably give it a shot. They have a 3 year warranty and they are both early 2019 production dates. Lowes sells the packs, but they are $149 for the 4 amp hour version, one of mine is a 4 amp hour, the other is a 6. It looks like the 6 amp hours are discontinued as I don't see anything but a 5 amp hour on the website. If you warranty the batteries you only get a 90 day warranty on the new ones. So as evil as this will be to some people (maybe even unethical) if I can't get these to charge, I am going to buy new 4 amp hour batteries and return these ones. They are new, never used, so I do not feel bad about doing it. Maybe that makes me an evil person, but I can live with myself.

Today devolved a bit, I was about to leave the house (where I actually live) and the furnace did it’s old trick and shut down after a bit of running. I was prepared (or so I thought), I took the new controller down and after a bit of messing around, got it all wired up. Turned the furnace on and it did the same thing.
Needless to say, I was a bit frustrated, I started going through all the ways that the particular fault could arise, pretty sure it is the new cad cell (flame sensor), I didn’t have my meter at the house, of course I realized later, the fancy controller has a way to read the resistance of the cad cell.
Picked up new parts, the igniter had a seriously damaged wire, so I bought a new one as well as a full cad cell and a couple of just the replacement eyes. I also went to Lowe’s and bought two of the 40 volt batteries, they only stocked the 5 amp hour, if they charge and work as intended, I will be pretty happy, then I can deal with the bad batteries later.
At the Hill, I decided to do a bit of plowing before it got dark, there is a lot of snow, too much for the little bit of space I have on top, will most likely need to move piles before the winter is over. At least the ground is frozen this time!
I am about to head home with some tools and new parts to fix the furnace, hopefully for the last time!

The cad cell appears to have been the trouble all along. It was fairly new and the last tech said it was not the issue, so I hadn’t concentrated on that direction.
On top of that, the freaking old batteries charge fine now that they are warm.
Hopefully the batteries and the snow blowers will work well.

The batteries will always run out just when you are near the end of the job so another set won't hurt to have around.
We have some LED portable flood lights that have similar battery characteristics we have them on an extension lead with a timer on so that every week they get a few hours charge so they will be ready when we need them. Could be worth setting these batteries on a similar system.

I have wanted to make up a nicer timer setup like that for a while, I don’t trust the chargers and lithium batteries, makes me cringe when I forget one on the charger.
If the tools work well, I can swallow the cost, but if they aren’t that great, then it was a lot of money for no reason. The crappy thing is that the manual talked about the red light on the charger being on when the battery is too hot. I never really thought about too cold. I will find out tomorrow how well things work.

Well I appreciate your honesty with, and about yourself. I believe every single one of us has faced inner trials and tribulations, some we caused ourself and some were just dropped in our lap. I think you are a stand up dude that truly loves accomplishing what you like to do. And you handle it well. May not be our thing you do........... but it’s your passion not ours!

Was just reading some of the latest China spy drama and saw that DJI is now on the list, can’t wait to see what transpires, the drone is essentially dependent on the software, so I assume DJI could shut them down. I am going to carry on like it isn’t spying on me or any of us too much.

Heat worked fine all night, so I am saying that the cad cell was the problem and we actually have a successful repair.
Next up is snow removal at my house, so we can gauge the cordless tools. We did get 18” of snow here, but it is light and fluffy, so I am hopeful. If they work, it could be a back saver, I can drag them with me to the SG and use them there too. I don’t have any sort of reality disconnect and I know they won’t be any good at heavy wet snow unless it is just a little bit, but it is always nice to have options.

Ok, so the snow broom thingy is pretty cool, it doesn’t work well for the stairs at all, probably took more effort to use it than it would have with a shovel. It does however work really well, even on some of the snow that has been semi melted into a more dense consistency. I think it will have a place for sure. I do feel like it would shine on a deck or patio area, anywhere getting a full size snow blower would be an issue.
