Ok, so the snowblower ***** balls, unless you are on a paved surface and there is less than 6” of snow, then it is marginal. I am pretty sure the snow broom uses the same motor, yet it is only 12” wide so it has way more power. I did manage to get something stuck and bound it up good, but once I cleaned it out, we were back to normal. It really shines at the overhead doors, you can easily blow the snow way out of the way and it did a good job oven with deep stuff. You have to kind of come in from the top at the deepest points, but 12” was a straight shot and it worked well. I did find it has a safety on the motor, if it bigs too much it shuts off, you then have to pop the battery out and reinsert it, that seems to clear the problem instantly. All the snow I moved was on one battery, the smallest one too.

Almost 2 feet at the Hill and more like 14” at the SG. Just got here to plow, hopefully it will be better than last time, the ground should be frozen now.

Looks good Strouty. Isn't it nice when the ground is frozen. I worry about Christmas day warming up with rain and wind. Should make for quite a mess.

I heard something like 50 degrees, but I am not sure if that was in a dream or just another random weather guesser.

The snow broom is awesome, it shines on the clearing of the snow that gets pushed up by the plow. I am sure it will not work as well on wet snow, but even my real snowblower has issues with that.

I moved a lot of snow and it was on one battery. If it works for half the storms, it will be a great addition for sure!

I can see that it should be modified a bit, the handle is designed around using it like a snow blower, but I am using it elevated and it is kind of tough to hold up for a long time. I think if it had a bent handle like the back saver shovels, it would work better.

I was up late last night, for no real reason either. Now I am paying the price, this morning has been less than productive. I need to try and dig out the rest of our driveway and clear a path to the real snowblower so I can get it to the shop and figure out why it isn’t working.

One a similar note I have a "Snow Blower" attachment for my Ryobi weed wacker and the "Snow Blower" thing absolutely rocks, the power head part not so much! First two years it ran fine then all I have done is throw good money after bad at trying to get it to run consistently. I bought this as a supplement to my garden tractor and 42" snow blade. This is about 12/14" wide as well and weighs only maybe 3-5#'s more than the wacker in lawn trim, I use the neck strap and rock the blower into the snow, in pretty much the same fashion as you describe top down and stand back it's snowing out front. Again if your battery holds out in the cold I would expect you to be similarly happy! Harry

Monza- If you want to ditch that powerhead, I am pretty sure that all the Ryobi attachments work on the Stihl kombi heads. My brother has a Ryobi tiller and hedge clipper attachment that he picked up at a tag sale, and they work great for his Stihl kombi. don't see why the other attachments wouldn't work with that powerhead.

I was told the Trimmer Plus doesn't fit the Stihl, it does fit some of the lower end brands, I should just go online and find a new carb while that is still possible, it is just down my list a couple of hundred pages. I have thought about making/adapting parts to make it work, but I ain't that ambitious anymore, I will either fix or replace when it P!$$ me off one time! I feel for Strouty as we have many traits in common, [I see the Gem in that pile of $#!+ and I'm going to get it I tell myself] but as I age I have much less ambition now than ten years ago, and that wasn't all that much already, and I keep making my list longer and seem to rarely work on it. Harry [Strouty that is a dig at me NOT you! I respect your adventures, as I used to do that all the time, but somethings change and our self perception is slow to catch up]And Thank You RJ for the thinking of my self inflicted plight!

I agree, maybe even two.....

I used some silicone spray to test the snowblower at the house, not only did it fire, it instantly started and stayed running, go figure. I got everything at the house cleared out, even the path to the oil tank that will have to be filled soon. Also took all the bankings down to the curb, I always plan for the next storm, but this time it looks like a rain storm, so I don't want nasty high frozen bankings.

Probably some dried fuel debris in the fuel bleeds. Happens on a few of my machines. They won't start to save their lives, but if you get em going on gaseous fuel they stay running. Its like the increased vacuum knocks the **** out. Running every couple weeks at least seems to help, or use some Stabil.

I really need to setup a better after winter storage routine, I have gotten better with a lot of things, but the small engine stuff seems to be low on my list. :(

Boy if that isn't the truth....It seems that we tell ourselves that the small engines are simple, and thus easy to fix. But in reality those issues eat as much time away as the "big" stuff.

I want to start making my own ethanol free gas, seems like it would be worth the effort, almost all issues with small engines these days seems to be based on the ethanol.

I have noticed that using 91 octane ethanol free in the outdoor power equipment works way better than 87 octane with ethanol.

We don't have any ethanol free gasoline, you used to be able to buy it at a few airports, but they no longer sell to the public.

You collect enough stuff get a experimental light plane and use that as your reason to need aviation gas, we used to run it in the race car.

You could put meat cleavers on it and use it as one of the road side attractions in Maine:cool:

Strouty there is a gas place with real gas just over the state line in NH on ft 25. Not exactly handy for you, but it's there.
I've been doing well just treating pump gas in 5 gallon cans with blue (marine) stable for years. I'll usually go treat and fill 3 at a time and depending on the time of the year, it can hang around for months in the summer without any problems.

The Depot in Springvale has ethanol free gas. Still not close but they have it. Just got installed a few weeks ago.

Same here. Marine grade Sta-Bil, AND an oz / gal of Seafoam.
I keep 5 - 15 gallons on hand for the yard machines and ATV. Depending on time of the year.

I looked at making ethanol free gas from E10. After distillation costs, it was cheaper to just buy the E0 gas wherever i could find it. Fwiw.

My weed eater and blower is used so little that I just spend the money and buy a gallon from Lowes that is ethanol free. Easy and lasts all summer. My mower I just use the stabil and at the end of season run the carb dry.
