So far this morning and early afternoon have been exactly as unawesome as they could be. Perk just plain ***** trying to actually do anything with precision, like I don’t ever want to do what I just had to do again, at least not until I have a working remote and the proper hydraulic Pump/PTO combination. Trying to use the forks is an absolute nightmare, especially when your help doesn’t understand that you need to move the boom in three directions to make it actual go where it needs to go. Then the RPMs are all wrong, so I rig things to rev the engine, but once the hydraulics load up, you need more throttle, but when you left off of the controls, the engine over revs and you have to quickly kick the throttle back. I can see that ultimately a computer controlled engine is required to make things function best, I am hopeful that once we swap the hydraulic pump and PTO out (when the transmission gets swapped) that just changing the ratios and pump flow will make a huge difference, at least so I don’t look like some mad scientist running the controls. I have just a couple more things to do before we can tear into Perk to do the trans swap, but it seems the list keeps getting longer as the days go on.
Today is hot, tomorrow will be hotter, somehow I got poison ivy in the crook of both arms, so I am super uncomfortable, completely soaked with sweat, and frustrated, I still have to shuffle trailers again. To top it all off, my second adjustable hitch is MIA and I had to disconnect a trailer just to use the only one I had left with a 2” ball. That hitch needs to get changed out, I don’t want anything but 2 5/16” or a pintle, very frustrating playing musical trucks and trailers.
So for today all I have done so far is move trucks and trailers while unloading the flooring, the shower, and the bathroom vanity. Now I just want to go home.
