That is strange Walrus, I have no Android devices, so I can't speak to that. :(

Ryan knows about the issue and is trying to figure out how to deal with it. I am not too thrilled with losing tapatalk, posting pictures was probably the best part, no one wants to have to use their imagination when it comes to my threads........
Every thread needs pictures. Maybe not every post but some pics help folks see what you are talking about

I agree pictures are needed, but complicating them really does ****, especially when you are used to posting lots of them.

This time free will probably cost Dad another $500, he usually gets lucky, today was no different. The towing company was on their way to the next town up and just diverted directly to him

Probably not, I think he could have jacked the back up with the outriggers and put boards underneath the rear tires, but sand is sand and this is not an off road vehicle.

Yep, on an iPhone at least the mobile browser page works pretty well - not as good as Tapatalk - but functional after getting familiar, and Strouty has detailed his learning experiences with posting photos - again, more clunky than Tapatalk, but functional.

The other thing I did was to go to the forums page and post a link to the phones homescreen. This gives an ‘app like’ button that when pressed goes straight to the forums page and the latest updates.
I’ve been a Tapatalk user for years and never particularly keen on the website version of the forum, but now the two are getting pretty close in comparison for me, though I’m not much of a poster.

I did the same with my iPad, replaced the GJ app with a link to my saved discussions on the Home Screen. Takes me directly to my saved discussions on the website.

I still prefer the app, but I guess we’ll all have to adjust until a new app is built. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How does he dare disturb the shoreline. Some one calls and the DEP will be all over him.

Those aren’t “rocks” they are granite anchors. They have metal “staples” in them and the staples are rusted to the point that they need to be replaced. The local installer offered them to Dad for “free”, but I am willing to bet it would have cost him a lot to have someone haul them away and my Dad is a sucker for free.

The knuckleboom has a bit over 30’ of reach and will still lift 3 tons out there, so yes he was able to put them there without any issues.

So they are for moorings? I was thinking that looks like a neighborhood that would rat you out in a second

They don’t allow them for boats anymore, they have to use steel mushroom style anchors. He is going to use them for the docks and apparently they don’t care what you use for a dock float.

Dad bought two full lengths of 1 1/2” round stock and then spent most of the day I stalling the new “staples”, he said they weren’t worth it, but he was finishing them anyways. I should have snapped a couple pics, but I was already running late.

I got prices on the dealer plate situation, looks like insurance will be about $260 a month for me to have three plates. Sounds like a lot, but being able to transport and inspect vehicles without registering or titling them is actually a big deal. Smaller vehicles are not too expensive as far as registration and insurance, but Bev and Buck would each be about $500 to register and $1200 to insure, that right there is close to $300 a month. I told my Friend that I would try it out for the next six months and see how it goes. Ultimately it will be a benefit when it comes to selling something, dealing with titles is much easier, there is no waiting for the BMV, you can essentially reassign them using the dealership info, that means I won’t pay sales tax or the $43 I normally pay for each title, plus right now it takes 5 weeks or so if you are lucky. I am still waiting on titles for a few things, this would have sped up my ability to unload things a bit, although I have to admit, I haven’t been in the unloading mood as of late.

Headed to home depot this morning to pick up plumbing supplies for the office project, hopefully I can still get a few other things done today as well. I really need to get the Lista storage wall figured out so I can start cutting and fabricating my custom parts for both the leveling feet and the funky uprights.

The windows are at least another month out, the plumbing will be roughed in this weekend. I have to paint the space, it has already been primed, we need the electrician to finish wiring. Bathroom needs to have all walls finished. Exterior (front) needs to be sheathed and insulated, then siding. Floors need to be installed, all built in counter tops and cabinets need to be installed. My contractor has three or four weekends that he is camping as well. I suspect we will be end of September before I can start bringing supplies and paperwork in.

I need to go and get a toilet and then get a bunch of PEX A (upinor) and fittings, then we should have everything for the plumbing.

I am over at the Salvage Garage, had to stop in and check a few things out, wish I could stay, it is nice and cool inside here. :( Sticky outside and trending towards hotter.

I am going to take a look at another truck, my buddy is trying to sell it and he thought it might work for me, I don’t know if it will, but it is only a few minutes out of my way. ;)

Ahhh, ok, now I get it!

And here's me foolishly thinking that granite was a type of rock.

:ROFLMAO:

I'd never heard the term, so I googled "granite anchor", and it took me here...

It appears that it's not a rock at all, it's a t-shirt!

Now I'm really confused.

Google mooring and the granite rock makes sense 😀

I did look at the truck yesterday, but nothing to report, it would be a really cool thing if I didn't already have50 projects going on (I think 50 may be a bit light).

Yesterday turned into a fiasco, the maroon burb was making a rattling noise, wasn't sure what it was, but nothing seemed off other than the noise and it wasn't from the engine or transmission area. I figured out what it was, the emergency brake was having issues. I tried to fix it, but actually made things worse, at this point I knew I was going to be in for some repairs so I drove it, smoke and all......

Then I tried to drive goldfender, but the steering box is so loose, after 35 MPH it is near impossible to keep it between the lines, I am sure I looked like a drunk driver, so I swapped that out for the company F-350. At some point during all this I tweaked my knee, so it was hurting a bit, not too bad, but enough to let me know it was sore. Then my Brother calls and asks if I can go and look at a commercial building he is thinking of buying, the realtor and a few other people are also coming over, but he wanted me to see it first. So I went over to his place around 3 PM, we went to the place and proceeded to walk through the woods for an hour touring all the property lines, at this point my knee was telling me to quit it. The real estate agent showed up as well as all the other people (including Dad) and we toured the inside of the space, now my knee is on FIRE. I ended up hanging out while everyone else talked and walked around looking at things. Next time I will bring my own wheels. After that we went back to my Brother's house and looked over the loan terms and possibilities for the space, it was very clear that it wasn't going to work for him with the all in costs. I went home around 9PM and iced my knee, it still hurts now, I am sitting here with a big ice pack on it. :(

So today may end up being a lot less of a day than I originally thought, but things happen........

At least it isn't 90 and humid, yet........

Feels like it, at least if you can't get out of the sun. I called quit at 10. Going to set the dock in (the shade) into the river. Pretty sure I'll be using it very soon.

I almost want to go to the lake, my GF is going to do something with her Mom, not sure when she will be back. Definitely want to get the AC unit setup today, should have done it a few days ago.

What jim said!
The water's probably still cool enough that you won't need the ice pack. It's just the first dipping of the beans and wiener that will make you forget all about your knee😁

I setup the AC unit and have been looking at these water circulating cooler/heater pads for mattresses. I ended up ordering a blanket version and I will order a pad to test out as well. I am not getting great sleep, I sleep too hot no matter what time of year thanks to the memory foam. My back loves the feel, but heat is insane...

I also had to move a bunch of boxes from the front porch into the truck, all my tie down supplies arrived yesterday. Not one box was less than 35 pounds, some closer to 60. I didn't put on any shoes and now it feels like I actually may have burned the bottoms of my feet on the driveway.........

Preach that on the memory foam being WAY too hot. Even in the dead of winter and all the heat blocked off in the bedroom. Let us know how the coolers work, please.

Sorry about your feet. Is the driveway paved? All I thought I've seen was gravel driveways.

At my actual house there is a paved driveway and I took four trips before the driveway felt hot, I figure at that point it was too late, they just feel like a sunburn now, probably be ok by tomorrow. I think I have some tough feet, at least the bottoms…
