I figure this reading is going to take a while, no matter what the 4 cylinder diesel from the loader needs to be fixed. I have wanted to scrap the Boston fire truck for a while, but I know it is going to take a good week for me to get it all torn down and ready for scrap. I have plans for the axles, the engine, the transmission, and a bunch of trinkets from the cab/bed. I also want to try and sell some things in the process, so the week may end up spread out over a longer time frame.
I just swapped out the blinker switch on Perk, I have been plagued (I don't think I knew how to spell that word....) with issues with the right blinker for several months, we thought it was wiring, but I decided to get a new switch, then I lost the new switch before I could install it (I know, I know!), so I ordered a new one, it arrived today and I installed it ASAP. Now things are working like they should and I can't make it mess up like before. Hopefully that is the end of the issue, I really hate intermittent things like that.
So I have to take Perk to the Hill, hook up the 20 ton deck over trailer so it is ready for the forklift pickup, I want to do this tonight, as tomorrow is my GF's B-day and I want to be home at a reasonable time so we can chill out and have dinner together. Saturday is back to the grind, maybe once the forklift is back to the SG we can get the tires swapped over on the trailers, I didn't even touch that yet as my help vanished.
Then I will most likely bring Clark back to the SG on Sunday, that way we can grab things for the auction a bit easier, at least the stuff in the back forty, out front has been ok with just Guido as long as I stay away from the sand traps anyways. Once I have things figured out for the auction and scrap yard, there should be quite a bit more room, at least that is what I am hoping for, I would like to bring things from the Hill over to the SG for the winter, the mess up there is awful once the snow hits. At least at the SG I have flat ground for the most part anyways. I think this winter Perk may be off the road so I can get the transmission swapped and all the hydraulics figured out. Then things will be ready to roll come spring. Lots of moving parts, not including normal work and the new office, then the house on the Hill, plus a hundred other things, basically a normal Fall for me.
