The weather should be good, but the blue burb did the same thing it did the other night, luckily I got it to the Hill with only one stalling incident. Thankfully, my brother is going with me and he said he can meet me at the Hill with his truck.

At this point I am thinking it is something to do with the fuel tank/sending unit. Both times it was right around 330 miles on the trip odometer and the fuel gauge was bouncing almost identically. I proved that the tank wasn't empty the last time, the only thing that is making me scratch my head is that after we filled the tank it still sputtered after about 5 miles of driving, could have been some air that was trapped and I could just be chasing my tail. Plan is to put five gallons in it, then go and fill the tank again, then drive it locally to see what happens. The previous owner "mentioned" that I was going to need new fuel lines, when I asked what made him think that he became a bit vague, I had just cracked it up to him being eccentric about the burb. He installed a new tank and sending unit, he also added a drain on the bottom of the tank, so that should make things easier to deal with, but now it makes me think there was a issue all along and that is why I got the burb with an almost full fuel tank.......

Is it possible that the foot fell off the pickup in the tank? I know that's a common problem with Fords; not sure about Shivverlay. Anyway, if that happens, you'll start sucking air when you still have fuel in the tank, and once you have air in the lines, it will certainly take 5 miles or so to clear it out.

I am thinking that it is pickup tube related as well, if it runs fine after I fill it up, I will probably wait until this weekend to tackle things and just keep the tank topped off.

I am letting Dad lead the charge on the tower, I am here to film things. We are probably a couple hours away from dropping it, clearing trees first.

I got the drone up and running, we are clearing the trees now to get a nice landing zone for the tower, Dad and his guy want to just cut the anchor off on one side, going to let them do what they want and just video it.....

Still working on things, Dad dumped a truck on the skid steer, so we had to deal with that, then no grease gun or grease, so I had to drive into town to get some supplies. They are loading the skid steer now, my Brother is dumping the last of the trees we are taking down, then it should be a quick drop, hopefully before it gets dark so I can get video.

Clear fuel line from IP to to return lines that go to injectors, on front of engine. Any air bubbles in there and you know you are sucking air somewhere. I'll post a pic if you want?

The current fuel issue is definitely in the tank, filling it up fixed the issue again. Next issue is the MPG, it was still bad, 12.6, should be more like 16.5, then the heating issue came back, so now it was close to 160 again. I am thinking maybe the "upgraded" fan he installed is too much or stuck on, it doesn't really sound like it is on all the time, but I am going to swap back to a stock one anyways. A friend thought it might be some crazy injectors or upgraded fuel system, but it would make smoke and this thing doesn't smoke at all. I am wondering if it needs more time to break in? The seller said it had 4000 miles on it, but I can't confirm that. I don't know, but so much for buying one that I can just drive and not have to do a lot of repairs on...........

I will try and get the videos of the tower uploaded tomorrow, not sure I want to spoil the fun with pictures of the aftermath.

Strouty, After looking at the pictures you posted of the mast I wonder why does the bottom of the mast go from three possible bolt down points to a single bolt down point?

IF they hot rodded the engine with a tune and it was done properly, there shouldn't be any smoke. When it it pours the coal, that's just a lazy tuner. That's the whole philosophy behind Gale Banks' company.

It is actually a pivot point, the tower can and does move.

X, this truck has factory power, so it wasn’t tuned. We also verified that the injection pump timing was within spec.

I will post up a bunch of the images, but I want them further down so it won't spoil the videos, probably try and get them to the next page. On the first video Dad turned his phone, on the drone video, I should have been behind the drone, I thought the tower was going into the opening that is seen, but I screwed up and the landing shot was not in frame, nothing I can do now. I think with some creative editing I can make things a lot better, but I wanted you guys to see what it looked like ASAP.

If we had done it earlier in the day, it would have been better for sure. It felt way more rushed than I would have liked it to be, but at least this time the videos came out, when we took the last tower down and I lost the videos, that really sucked. Once I get to editing things, I have some more videos that I can post up, plus some time lapse stuff from a long time ago.

Yes, we had cut a swath for it to land in, it wasn't quite long enough, but we were running out of daylight and the wind had picked up.

Yes, you're right that things could have been better, lessons learned. But,......that was wicked cool.

The other swaths were for the three sets of guy wires holding the tower up. If we wanted to make it fall into one of those areas, we would have needed to cut two anchors at the exact same time and if it wasn't just right, the tower would fall in an uncontrolled manor. This was the best way, you cut the one anchor and the two others pull it over exactly between those wires.

No "TIMBER" on this one.....

So now you have a birds foot shaped clearing.

It was fun, I would have liked to have more prep time, but Dad is a bit spontaneous and can't usually be controlled. He also learned not to turn the phone while taking a video.

Strouty what's the plan now? Are you unbolting it or just cutting it up in manageable pieces and hauling to the scrap yard?
