Yes on the steel cable, yes on the leaving it, and yes scrap is low......

We are trying to make a deal with the guy that owns the farm abutting the property to sell it, he already said he would be fine with leaving the steel and cleaning it up himself. There are a few things that may be worth salvaging, but not much.

Drone shot of Strouty doing a triple lindy off his dad's new diving platform at the end of the dock. Is the water too cold now? I'm guessing we'll have to wait until next June for the video.

We pulled the fuel tank, sending unit is fine????

luckily I had brought another fuel tank, it had a known good sending unit in it. We found that the previous owner had used a tank for a gasoline suburban not a diesel, the gas version has a tray around where the fuel pump would be, the diesel tanks have nothing inside except diesel fuel and the sending unit. So we swapped tanks and added 5 gallons, I went for a test ride and seems perfect.

Gasoline tank, you can see the tray.

The diesel tank has no tray, we think that it was making it so that fuel couldn’t get to the pickup tube/sock when the tank was at about 1/4 capacity.

I think Monday I will be working on the lights, I want to swap all the old ones out for new ones. I also am chasing the stereo still, I think I am going to bypass the factory amps, they aren't going to help me much anyways. I also need to get to my snow tires, they are at the SG up on a pallet rack, that I can't access with the forklift right now. It isn't a mad rush, I want to wait until I have the wheel spacers anyways, they are supposed to be done sometime soon.......

We are supposed to get snow that will actually accumulate on Wednesday, so I need to triage both the Hill and the SG for plowing, I have far too many things that are in the way to do any sort of decent job of clearing the snow, plus I have to get things off the Hill before it snows and the road gets too slippery. Monday is supposed to be almost 60, but raining and windy, so I am trying to do some inside stuff, today isn't terrible, so I am going to try and move as much of the small annoying things as I can at both he Hill and the SG. I am at the Hill now, had to gather some tools and supplies for Monday.

We are supposed to get that **** on Wednesday, I don’t know if tomorrow is going to be a total washout or not, I do have everything setup for inside work at the SG, I would like to clean the entire bay out so a vehicle could drive in if needed. Random pictures from the Hill, I got a lot more done, but it is too dark for decent pictures. I am loading the Burb with some things that need to go to the SG, then I am going to try and load up the dump trailer with some random **** that needs to go.

It is raining now, wind hasn't really become as strong as they said it would be and Wednesday looks like it might be much less than they anticipated too. I am still using triage to get the worst stuff done first, I think this afternoon I may even get some dry weather, enough to finish what I started at the Hill. Tuesday is supposed to be low 40s and sunny, so I can start early and try and wrap up the SG yard, I have to get the front all cleaned up and it would be nice to get back area cleaned too, I should be able to use the forklift out there, even after the rain now that we added gravel. All I can do is keep at it.......

It really looks like I should have plenty of time, even if Wednesday turns really bad, the weekend looks like it is going to warm up a lot.

No real warm, dry periods in my forecasted future. High of mid-40's at best, for the next 10 days. I hope you have better in yours.

Mid 40s is warm!

I think this weekend is going to be 50s and more rain.

I got the repair estimate back on Perk, even with the prices on the "light" side, we are at $11k and it would definitely go up, there is about $1000 in missed parts that I see without even blinking.

I hate insurance adjusters. Most don't know what they are looking at. I had a guy plow into my trailer 12 years ago or so. An adjuster came out and told me the trailer wasn't bent because, "you cand bend steel without breaking the welds."

It didn't take me long to show him his error.

I don't know, my last one was awesome. Totaled the car (rightly so), then told me where to get brand new parts cheap so I could get it back on the road. Almost the entire front clip (including core support) for $350.

Something funny we found out about the Blue burb, the ignition switch is screwed up, you can't turn it back to the accessory position, but you can remove the key while it is running, so I can take the keys, lock the truck, and leave it running like a remote start system.

We worked on the maroon burb yesterday, got the glow plugs (not the one behind the turbo though) changed, added a new section of wiring harness for the driver side plugs, fixed a terminal on the passenger side, so it should start in the cold now without being plugged in. Then we dug into the brakes, looks like the e-brake cable has kinked over and that is why it wouldn't release. We had to order new drums and a new cable, so I can't finish that until tomorrow.

Going to get as much cleaned up as I can today at both he SG and the Hill, snow tomorrow could be as much as 5", I don't really want to plow, but if I have to, I want to be as ready as I can be.

We're supposed to get some sort of precipitation starting at around midnight tonight and going into mid-day tomorrow. Looks like snow then turning to rain. Must be the same system.

I hate it when it snows, then rains, then gets cold, then does it again. Just rain or just snow, that I can deal with. We are going to be back in the 50s this weekend with rain. Right now it is windy, if it wasn’t for that, it would actually be nice.

Last night was a long one again, got home about midnight. I moved Clark over to the SG, then I loaded the IHI track crane, it is not at the SG yet, but it probably will be this weekend. Also used the "roll" back (destroyer of Perks) to move the box van to my friends place, he decided he wanted it, worked out well for both of us.

Today my back feels like JUNK, I mean I feel like 25% of a normal person, at some point it is going to snow some amount, for a random amount of time, at least that is what I have gotten for info from the weather guessers. I am going to shuffle trucks and a few things today, try and keep my back from dropping below 25%..........IMG_1514.jpgIMG_1515.jpg

My back is feeling better, I am taking it easy and the snow is starting, kind of grainy so far, just blowing around. I did pick up the generator, hopefully the crane will start at the SG so I can unload it, I don’t think I can take it out with the forklift.
