The hell with thawing n bottles. That little devil has plenty of teeth. Just fling 4 of the cubes in his bowl, and he's good to go.

Probably would be good for him and he'd enjoy the stimulation too.

When we had a dog with some behavioral issues, the vet suggested things like frozen treats or a Kong ball with treats. Said to make him work for his food. "TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch"

He doesn't want to touch the ice cubes, then they melt and make this goo and dark water conglomeration. If I could only dehydrate them and make some sort of soylent green out of them......

Had to pull front wheels off Perk, then open up the tire from the rim to get to the valve stem, I think they can be turned around, but I am going to try and buy new ones plus get some other options, I don’t want to do this again.6A28D5BA-0087-452A-A1B2-12DB6DE060D6.jpeg

Freeze dried, or dehydrated? And I'd want something on the fronts as well. Doesn't look like fun.

I guess either would work, but it needs to be crunchy, I don't think he likes the cold. When the smoothie comes directly out of the fridge it isn't his favorite either, I usually warm it up a bit, a little cooler than room temperature is the best.

As for the big tires, honestly, I have invested in some pretty good tools, so doing it isn't too bad, moving the actual and rim combo is the hard part. I bought two short and two long valve stems ($55), I think the short ones will work, but I didn't want to find out I needed the others after the tire shop closed. I also got some hydraulic oil, some gear oil, and a few other things to have for the road trip. My GF's Birthday is tomorrow, so I am going to try and limit any work to just the morning, that may make tonight a later night, depending on how things go. I am at the Salvage Garage right now, I had half a burb load of stuff to drop off, then I needed a couple more things, I am about to head out and hit the bank on the way back to the Hill, then I can tear things apart the rest of the way on Perk and finish the tires and hub covers. We will see what time it is at that point before deciding what to do next. I really wanted to try and mount a toolbox or two on the upper deck of the trailer, I need a lot of space for all my supplies and chains.

I am still working on the wheels, I keep running into issues, I have the final design, only after 6 tries. :(

The passenger side hub had some muddy oil, so I am going to drain as much as possible and refill with good oil, next week or so I will have to replace the seals at a minimum, might have to replace the bearings, all depends on what they look like when we take it apart. I am getting ready to grease everything in the front end, some stuff has not been greased in a while, like before I owned the truck, bad me, bad me.....

Tomorrow we are going to adjust all the brakes on Perk and the Muv-All trailer, I still have to figure out a tool box and get things loaded, need to do all this by early afternoon so I can be ready to go out for dinner with the GF, it is her Birthday and I already feel bad enough that I am stuck doing this now. I didn't have any choice, this was the weekend that everyone was available for the loader and I need to get it home, it has been one of many stressors.

I have already been to Home Depot and the Salvage Garage, headed to NAPA no, if they don't have what I need, I will go directly to my Buddy's shop and get the pieces, then I will be able to put Perk back together. I need to go on a test drive to see if adding the cat eye pressure regulator will make the front end shake, if it does, well, I am going to cry. We think that they are inbound enough and the tire is big enough that it won't change anything, but the last time I thought like that it didn't turn out like I wanted it to. :(

I think I got a touch over four hours of sleep last night, considering that, I actually feel pretty good, I suspect it has a lot to do with the diet change. Also I am now down to sub 270 range weight wise, five weeks ago I was 290 and before that I was 320 so this year I have dropped 50 pounds, another 50 and I won't know what to do......

Buy LOTS of clothes. Kuddos on you for dropping the weight. I hope your morning goes smoothly, though we both know that rarely happens.

I am back at the Hill, just fed the Chuck, now I am headed out to get back on the tires and seals. I also brought another radio, but that is last thing to do, still have about ten hours worth of work and I need to get it done in about 6.

“Shake down” went ok, still have the same vibration from 45 to 50, might have a small shake from 35 to 40, but hard to tell on our roads. Felt great from 50 to 73 (top end right now). I am calling it a win. I am going to add some oil to the hubs, then torque the wheels one more time before I put the lug caps back on. My Buddy should be here soon, going to adjust the brakes on everything. Then I have to mount some tool boxes, not sure how yet, probably just drill some holes and bolt them to the upper deck of the Muv-All.

Things went very well, should be the last road trip Perk makes this year, I have to shuffle a couple things locally, then the plan is to clean out the big bay at the Hill and Perk will be in there for the winter, need to do a lot of things, clutch, transmission swap, PTO, hydraulic lines, tool boxes, electrical, fifth wheel, rear differential swap, and I am sure more stuff.

Technically a bit more than that for now, but Perk 2.0 (the 4x4 version) will be essentially the cab, everything else will be changed, everything.

Yup, I need to get the water tanks and the chimney sorted at the house on the Hill. I figure I have two weeks before I need the heat and about six weeks before the water lines would be in jeopardy of freezing.

Strouty I can't keep up anymore. Is this loader one you are going to fix, one for parts... What's the plan?

Two to fix, one for parts, three total. I will do an assessment, but at this point I think this one is a fixer and the one from Connecticut is going to be the parts loader. This one needs a transmission and a cab.

Things were going well, then Dad decided to get angry that I didn't fill out his log book for the company pickup truck when I went to get his boat. He said I either fill it out or I don't use it, he is saying this when I am picking it up so I can install the seat covers that I bought at his request. He then proceeded to say he couldn't understand how I had put 18k miles on the truck doing company business. That got me really heated, I told him I wasn't the only one to drive the truck, it was used to do all his errands, borrowed by my brother to do his commercial plowing when his truck broke down, I plow all the tower sites, it goes to the camps and frequently gets used for hauling a trailer around with the skid steer. I honestly think he thinks that I am the only one that has driven the truck. I hate these games he plays, I am definitely working on my exit strategy, it is going to be a RPITA, that is for sure. I think my first option is to tell him I am no longer taking a flat rate, that I will be paid (I am considered a sub contractor) by the hour (I need to figure out my rates), then anything that I do will have to get recorded and billed accordingly, that includes when I use my trucks and my equipment to do his business. I don't think he understands the ramifications of this long term, but it is his game and right now he holds the majority of the cards, I don't like it.

Just fyi, you could file a complaint about being considered an independent contractor. You most certainly do not meet the legal criteria for an independent contractor for his business.

Might not be worth it from a family perspective but he would definitely get fined by the IRS and have to make you whole. Could be a point of leverage for you.
