The propane heaters suffered some sheet metal damage, during the rain we didn’t really care or check, just strapped it down and left. They are all at least April of 2019, so very new.

I also went with my gut on this chrome grill and it is the correct vintage, 988AA442-C5EC-4F5A-BF0E-1ACEA9FC7134.jpegit isn’t perfect, but it will look great on the F-700 crew cab.

I wish it had been the Spring auction, at least then I wouldn't be wasting valuable time shuffling things around, well it wouldn't feel like it anyways........

It is on the back side, just random plywood an old board and battens. I am pretty sure it is the old window opening. I need to rip it all off and sheath it. Just another thing to do.

I am glad I got everything inside, it didn’t rain last night, but the condensation is strong, so everything is soaked outside.

My GF is having knee surgery today, so I only have a little bit of time this morning, going to unload the propane heaters and then load up some tires that I need, from there I head to the Hill and feed Chuck. I think I can get it all done, hope so.

Crazy prices but probably not many sold of these and small production runs might explain the big price ticket.
Hope your GF knee operation went well, had a few myself and all after some initial discomfort made everything much better then pre operation.

Doctor just called me, everything is good and she is in recovery, I won’t be able to go in for another 30 minutes or so. It isn’t a terrible recovery, but she will be out of work for a couple weeks or more.

As for the fittings, someone is making a lot of money, there is no way that thing should be $2,200, no way at all.

The mold price for forming that fitting could easily be $50k up to $100k or more. That cost has to be ammoratized over the quantity of fittings produced....

So it is less about the material and production cost and more about the tooling cost...

Regardless, if you can sell them, so much the better for you.

How about turning the MacSE into an aquarium so the Chuck can expand his nature knowledge?

Eventually it will probably become something like that, I have a lot of other projects that need to be done first.

Wouldn't it have to be an arrow, I thought you always shoot an apple with an arrow?

In my world, parts are usually parts are a buck or two. But for low volume, the price is 10 times that. For a part that uses the same type of components. The difference is 45k worth of yearly volume compared to 4.5M worth of volume. Bimmer1980 nailed it, tooling and testing

STOP IT!!!!

On another good note, my A1C was at 9.8 on August 8th and it is now at 5.9, I just scheduled another appointment to have a new medical card, worst case is they issue another three month card, but I am hopeful that it will be for my normal one year (can't get two due to CPAP). That happens on the 25th of October, my fingers and toes are crossed, I am also down about 25 pounds, so that feels good too.

Thanks!

I hope to lower both even more, one step at a time, I am happy with how things are going, but I sure do miss some foods. I am going to shoot for one day a week fasting, my Chiropractor recommended it, he said he was "healthy", but had terrible stats, once he started doing the fasting one day a week everything got inline. I am also going to have to implement a cheat day, then I can have some fun with the food still. I haven't had an ice cream since August 8th and I used to eat ice cream a lot......

The painter was here today, he has gotten almost everything done, the contractor is coming tomorrow afternoon, so we should be able to finish things up as well. Then the electrician is almost ready to finish up the wiring. I am probably going to start moving things in this weekend. Today's plan kind of got screwed up, because the painter did another coat of poly on the top that is in the wood shop, so I can't do anything in there that creates dust and basically opening the door creates dust, so I will wait until tomorrow to use the wood shop. I am going to try and hook up the furnace (finally) and test out the chimney. I also need to see what size oil tank I have in the basement, if it is a 330 I will be happy, but I suspect the gauge is off and it is just a 275.

Great progress on the A1C !!!!

Be careful of the "cheat" days.... I don't think that will do you any favors. Just continuing with the better eating habits will continue to help. Even timing of your eating will go along ways. i.e. not eating late at night when you are going into "rest mode". Your body tends to go into fat storage if it is not being used. Hence, for the treat, eat a small amount of the ice cream in the middle of the day, when you know you can burn off the sugar, instead of a late night snack.....

Regardless, being less than 6 on the A1C is great!!!

I should say a cheat meal one day a week, I have found that if I don't have something, I tend to have a bad day, so if I can keep things to one big bad meal a week it should be better than backsliding for an entire day or two.

I figure that gives me the option to have a big dinner and a dessert and it should keep me on task the rest of the week.

As a type 1 diabetic with an insulin pump, I'd recommend that you make your "cheat" meal at lunch time, and then that gives you the afternoon to burn it off with all of the moving around you're doing on projects. Having a cheat meal late in the evening will not be good for you. Also, rather than turning it into a cheat meal, can you just downsize the portions? That way you still get the "treat" but less of a downsize.
Regardless, great job on getting your A1C to 5.9 and losing some weight!

Every time I go into the basement I just want to rip everything out and start from scratch, it is just that bad. I have to take a step back and remember that I only have so much time to dedicate to the project right now. I have figured out a good layout for the water tanks, least amount of ledge needs to be removed and that is a good thing. I am working on my order of operations now, going to make some space and gather the tools. I am also filing the water tank again, I have to disconnect the supply line for a bit in order to get things done. The sewer is going to be the worst, it means rebuilding everything and I don’t want to do that until I know what it is that I am actually doing with the house layout. Everything is hinging on something else and none of the something elses are done, so I may be winging part of it. The office has a working toilet, so no worries about that, but feeding Chuck involves a sink to clean up the mess and I don’t really want to have to go to the shop to wash things out.

That didn’t go nearly as bad as anticipated, someone already had broken it apart for some other reason, then used a rubber clamp to hold it together. I got it separated and then had to beat the remaining piece into submission to get it out of the bell, now I have to clean it up a bit and then try and get the PVC adapter installed.

Almost done with what I can do for today, my back hates that basement, 56” of height just doesn’t work for me. :(

I am putting together a parts list and then I will have to go to the SG and see what I have in stock. I also need to get the tires I didn’t get yesterday as well as a full list of what I have for the expensive PVC sewer fittings, then I can go to the plastic pipe supply place and talk to the owner again.

It looks like things are going to be easier than anticipated, what I thought was some ledge was actually dirt the was never removed from when they poured a slab for the other water tanks. It won’t give me a ton of room to be able to get to the lines where they come through the house, but that shouldn’t be an issue unless there is a catastrophic failure.

There is some junk mixed in, but a lot of good usable stuff, along with some great stuff to sell. One of the boxes had two brand new center consoles for 2019 Silverados, they were in the GM boxes, last one on eBay sold for $199 and it was used with damage. I will most likely list those on Marketplace and see what happens. There are lots of spare parts for the sandblasting pot and fresh air system. I have to look things over, I do not need two units, so I want to get one listed for sale. Today I have to deal with all the PVC and Fernco clamps, should have enough empty totes to fit just about everything. Then I will see what is still usable and try and pawn that stuff off as well, minus a couple things for Chuck to use of course.

It sounds like you got some good deals, but in the long run is this a smart move? I used to buy collections of car parts (musclecar stuff) whenever I could because you got it for a package deal and you could make $ selling it off individually. I quit doing that years ago because the juice just isn't worth the squeeze.

These days when I don't have room, time, or $ to buy stuff, I'll pass unless it's the proverbial deal of the century.

it will be worth it in the sense that I am going to use most of the stuff and quick flip a lot of the bulky stuff. I don’t think it will be hard to flip the heaters and the PVC appears to be a great deal. Only time will tell, but I expect that the stuff I bought will be worth the effort.

Gotcha. What about the blast media? Seems like that would take up a lot of space storing inside. Are you keeping that or flipping it?
