My son is on a jobsite where they are bringing in fill and a dump trailer had the brakes lock up out in the middle of the field. They had to disconnect the trailer from the tractor and drag it out with a dozer. I'm sure bad words were spoken . . .
He's got a lot of sitework stories and he's only been there 6 months . . .

Just one look at those splines and i can tell you nothing is moving.Well the bolts weren’t a big deal, but, do you think the splines will move? Let me give you a hint, two words, first starts with an f and rhymes with duck, the other is NO. I am digging out the torches and a bigger pry bar, the 42” didn’t do hardly anything.

I hope you can ppush through to the end and get it coralled in time to beat the ugly stuff.
I am running out of steam and it is getting late, I am going to work until 10, then I can do some driving, I have to shuffle a few things anyways. I wish I could say that it was going to be fine, but if we end up with inches of snow, well, it is going to be a mess. I have done a ton of stuff to make it better, but not enough, even the Hill is a mess and I can’t fix that without the equipment I need at the SG for at least another couple days, more if I get a lot of snow.

I am just about done, I want to move two more trucks and then I need to load the maroon Burb on the ramp truck. From there I can head back to the Hill and feed Chuck, my GF tried to feed him, but he wasn't having it, so I guess I will have to make it happen. I don't want him to get to hibernatey (custom word!). Anyways, I moved everything that will be trouble to move once things are wet, tomorrow I should be able to move the remaining stuff and that will get me as ready as I can be for the snow.
Just got Chuck’s smoothie ready, then I have to unload the maroon Burb and go pick up the Blurb from my Dad’s place. From there, I may head home or I may head back to the SG and get the F-350 so I can get the plow on it in the morning, well, later in the morning, when it is light out again.
They are still hedging on how much ____ the coast will get today/tomorrow. It should be a lousy day early for you guys down south. Also it appears the guessers predict it will hang around awhile but next week looks clear and cold so stuff should set up tight again. I figure more rain here on the coast as I put my ____ plow on

I am moving the hood gravel now, then the loaders, FWD, and the last trailer have to be tucked away, right in the middle like last year.
At least I will be able to plow most of the area. My Buddy is working on the Hyster forklift now, we should be able to use it this afternoon, then I have to get my rear to the Hill and hook up the plow on the F-350.

Your excavating and land reclamation is definitely going to pay dividends to future endeavours! I would think you should be looking for the rental of a fairly big roller for spring as compaction isn't going to be great by spring! I know rental will be a purchase, [see I was paying attention] but buy a GOOD WORKING unit if you do buy! This winter formulate a detailed plan for your needs and systematically pursue it with the "Extreme Diligence" we have just witnessed and next winter will so much less stressful! I know, I know, I should talk, but in my own way I'm trying do the same by, finishing up the smaller long nagging projects, then to more pressing matters next, then the wants after that, if I have it, it has to work! If I can't make that happen why am I wasting time on it? Just sharing my perspective from my more mirror view than armchair quarterback making plays with your team so to speak. You are inspiring/shaming us all into doing what we should have already done ourselves! Thank You and Good Luck! Harry
Not buying, Dad owns a big vibratory roller and a smaller road grader, will be using those for sure.
The Hill is seeing some action, had to use the skidder to move some dirt left from the guy that can’t figure out how to dump it properly. Now the skidder is DOA, luckily I got it in a decent spot, but I am pretty sure the hydraulic pump just died. If it isn’t one thing, it is surely another!
