It seems there are a slew of small tool liquidator sites that don't show up often on google searches. We've been looking at some great deals on some of these sites and here's another called Zerbee.com with deals on those Proto socket sets:

Please note that these small time outlets seem to have lousy categories and names for their stuff so searching the manufacturer's part number is best.

These sites have been selling some stuff at less than half what Zoro wants. So if you're shopping around, check out these sites since Google might not pull up results. Be advised, they seem to sell out quickly. Post the deal in the thread and if anyone has other sites that are similar, I'll add them to this first post.

I ordered the Proto 30 piece this morning off the rapid supplies web site. We'll see if they cancel my order. I don't really need another 1/2" socket set, but for $115 I couldn't help myself.

So after a few cancellations, here's my haul from the various sites listed.

3/8" drive SAE from Blackhawk (USA)
1/2" drive SAE from Proto (USA)
18" breaker bar from Proto (USA)
15" 72 tooth round head ratchet from Proto (Italy)

Looks like the 3/8" drive BH USA sockets are identical to my 3/8" Proto from an earlier purchase so I can only assume the tolerances are the same.

But the Italian (FACOM?) ratchet is soooo much more compact than the 24 tooth American version. It just seems better put together. The big USA ratchet is a lot wider but actually less tall than the Italian round head.

All this for less than $150? Awesome. This is why I thought we should consolidate the small liquidator sites into 1 thread.

I know some people missed out on the Proto breaker bars from shown in the earlier threads. Looks like most of these sites still have the 18.5" in stock(5468 or PTO5468). Cleanitsupply is the most expensive before shipping but the rest are around $10 to $12.

The 24" PTO5469 is way more expensive where it's available. $47 before shipping. I think this is the one most people wanted.

I bought it a while ago from cleanitsupply but they're out. It cost me about $25. Now the cheapest place that has it is Zoro for $55 with free shipping. You might be able to use a 20% off coupon depending on if your order is large enough ($100 might be the minimum). Otherwise continue to watch the liquidators, ebay, etc.

I like the ratchet a lot. Its swing arc is only 5 degrees compared to 15 for the coarse tooth models. The back drag is pretty light. Mine came lubed already but I wiped it down and added a fresh coating. Even then, it's about $10 cheaper than the newer model that has 45 teeth:

Well if you want to pay $222 for the standard and deep set, supposedly you can get it at Sears Market place but the seller, Nilima, has a bad reputation on their BBB listing.

Use the search term PTO, that's the prefix for their proto stuff. Some is listed under Stanley black and decker, but cross checking the part numbers says proto.

Did you try and call them, I can't see why they wouldn't adjust the shipping? I know it's different, but I have done that with Cripe Distributing off EBay when it shows I have to pay shipping for each item.

I emailed and the person responded that , that is how they make their money .
It is $7.99 flat rate shipping per item ,so a $2 Proto punch will cost you $9.

I have Called both Cripe and Abolox and had shipping charge adjustments.
I even asked about local pick up and was denied.
I am not dumping on these folks at all, just making everyone aware of what to expect.
I was just shocked at my $50 order, plus I pay TX sales tax and shipping = $185.
