Even though this isn't my kind of thing, it is straight up cool.

Don't think that there is anybody on this forum that can't appreciate truly hand made stuff. Really, really awesome.

I haven't checked up on this build in awhile, wish I did. WOW!! Awesome build. The shop looks much bigger than it really is inside with how well you placed all your tools and forge. I love handmade items. It shows the true talent in someone and you can put quality into it that can't be duplicated by machine. Way to go! I could see where this hobby would be addicting. Keep making great metal pieces and you'll probably be busier than you want to be.

This is looking wonderful! One thing I would be thinking about, if it was my shop...when it's cold out and you've got the doors shut - even though you've said it's drafty - would you want to consider adding some sort of carbon monoxide detector?

Pug, Great shed and cool craft that you do. I do have one question about your shed, the tin siding you used, where did you get it? Does it have a name? Thanks! Subscribed!

Nice shop.
What purpose does the brick base for the forge serve, as it was already freestanding?
It looks good, just curious.

Damn that's a cool shop! On a cold, rainy October day, with the heat cranked up inside and a ball game on an AM radio, that'd be just about Heaven.

How'd you cut the angle on the metal for the side walls?

Right on Pug maN, its good to see your keeping a dying art alive. Until you experience the process that goes into turning raw material into art, i believe you cannot truly appreciate it.

Over the last two years i have befriended a Polish fellow who IMO is a master of the blacksmith arts. Some of the stuff that he has created is amazing.

Here is a link to his site, check out his work.

Grate looking shop you have there, but you know you will be out of room way to soon!
FYI there is the Blacksmiths Association of Missouri (www.bamsite.org) if you have not checked them out you should.
It's nice when you can get together at a hammerinn and spend the day with a group of people that injoy the working of hot steel.

What a simple, cool build. Well done!!

Here 56RPM, it was quick, and I'm not real good at it yet but it looks more old school now...

It's been a month or so since I checked in. The new paint and pin stripe on the hood make it look so much better, awesome. Your blacksmith shop looks better all the time, I bet about now you're wishing you made it a little bigger.

FYI, the poster asking about your siding, it's galvanized corrugated metal siding often called "corrugated tin" by the older crowd.
