^ I have one of those little Huot drill indexes as well - I've never had a need for them, but a person needs to be prepared. :)

Here's my contribution to the discussion: I had to replace the battery in my MacBook today, and the replacement battery came with these dinky little drivers. One is used to open the back cover, the other is used to disconnect the battery inside. One is six point, the other is five point.

The screws themselves were less than 1/8" long. Amazingly, I didn't drop or lose a single one.

Positively the same.
I would not believe that Malco ever manufactured drill bits... They sourced USA bits and put their sticker on the Huot index.
I don't believe that Huot made drill bits either. Just the index.

I added 4 small ignition wrenches over the weekend. one is the third or fourth smallest I have! The small SO is 7/64 on one end 3/16 on the other .

I have 2 Blue points that are physically smaller, the same for the small opening. and there is also an Armstrong, 1/8 combo -I'm certain I've posted those before:

anyway, 11/32 SO, 1/4 Filson, 1/4 - 3/8 Fairmont adn the aforementioned SO - its the smallest SO made for that style.

It may have already been mentioned (I haven't read all 13 pages of this thread), but the tiniest ratchet I've ever seen is the one the dentist used to screw in the abutment for my tooth implant. I posted it on another forum, and a dentist there corrected me that it is actually a torque wrench.

Size matters? This small adjustable was impossible to resist.

And this "perfect handle" made in Germany is pretty cool, too.

Cool? Perhaps. Useful? It's forty years old if a day and looks absolutely untouched. My wife thought they were cute. The first time she's EVER commented about a tool purchase other than to say something to the effect of "how many screwdrivers do you have?" This coming from a woman that occupies 4 closets in our home.

If you are working in those sizes than I'd say very useful. for most automotive work, probably less so. But there is way more to be worked on out there than cars or trucks.

I just checked with 5 different calipers (Mix of Starrett and Mit) and several different pennies only one caliper showed .750, the rest from 2-4 thou smaller, depending on the penny. :dunno: I did find the caliper I was using last night had moved off 0.

What Years were the pennies? Wonder if things have changed since 1997.

Or maybe those guys found one penny that was 0.750, measured on a more precise tool, and kept it with their lesser tools as a spot check

Dunno, didn't give it much thought back then, but I saw 4 or 5 back then.

Just random new/old pennies RTM - didn't seem to matter :dunno:

I added to the tiny tools with really smal oilers Saturday - on the tinned units, I am going to try to make external cork caps, with a long pin for the "pinpoint oiling" to emulate he screw on caps that are MIA (I have 3 others that are complete so I know whats missing) I do need to straighten the bent one:
