While I agree it looks a lot lika a Stanly 101, Stanley is usually pretty aggressive about branding their tools. Even this ones blade is unmarked.
As the Worth point or other article said, probably from the time period when the patent ran out.

Found this at the flea market this morning. Branded "HANDY POCKET TOOLKIT" with a reference to a mfgr or supplier as "PIONEER PRODUCT." I don't know if the rule is original to the fiber case, but I am pretty sure the pliers are. I have a feeling a screwdriver might've went in one of the slots. I haven't tried to do any research yet. Probably mass marketed in trade mags.

^ I have a pair of angle-jaw "ignition pliers" that would make a perfect match for that pair of slip-joints, although they have something of a "gold" tone. Same high-quality construction with painful attention to detail, same as yours.

;) I have NO clue where they came from! I was going to stuff them into a "Kastar" ignition wrench set, but they won't fit into any of the slots!

I'm going to be lazy and post these miscellaneous "smalls" here rather than their respective brand threads.

It took me a good twenty minutes or so to pluck these out of a deep, overcrowded, messy box with a cardboard "[$1 EA. THIS BOX]" sign leaning on the back side. Hold that thought.

I found one of the wartime Duro-Chrome E61 - E67 series GMTK-spec ignition wrenches first, which prompted me to keep digging. I was surprised the whole early war set was there. I have several in roll-ups and an empty roll-up for these.

Mini-pliers are Indestro No. 3411, unknown ("HARDENED"), and only the second Champion DeArment I have ever seen/found in the wild, unmistakable by its unusual handle shape. These are in rough condition with box rot stains and scars. They bear the same patent ("1,950,362" - Manning's 1934) as the other pair I have but are marked "B424" instead of "No. 424". I'm not sure I have seen that before and I am not sure what it signifies off the top of my head.

Couple electrical/obstruction (15" x 90", same size both ends) wartime Superrenches (several sets going), a "< BLUE-POINTS CHICAGO >", same style, and a J.P. Danielson Auto-Kit No. 100 wrench. I don't even know if I need that or not with all my auto kit style wrenches in such disarray right now, but it's very early ("PAT. PEND.", typewriter font markings) and small, which are harder to find due to their tendency to get lost.

When I presented them to the seller as a bunch in the palm of one hand, he asked me how many. My brain had a brief 'AYFKM?!' moment but my mouth said, "I didn't count them. I was thinking 5 bucks." He said, "Did you read the sign?" My brain had a brief 'Is this your first time selling at a flea market?!', but my mouth said, "Yes, I did. But it's usually customary to get a discount for this many pieces, especially for smalls." When he said, "You need to count them," I started reaching across another guy to put them back, and he said, "Okay, okay, no need to get huffy. Make it $7?" :)

Where is that ****-O Meter when you need one?
If you're referring to my 2019 Picker of the Year trophy..., it's retired on a high and dry Shelf of Fame down in the Lugzsonian. :)

If it had a setting somewhere between 'Meh'...

PotY 1 Meh (small).jpg

...and 'Nice Find!'...

PotY 2 Nice Find (small).jpg

...for 'Routine', that's what I (Mr. Stingy) would award myself for that haul.

The funny part of the story for me was him making no distinction between the itty bitty ignition wrenches as items and the big fat whoppin' engineers' wrenches, bolt cutters, screwdrivers, radial saw blades, etc that were in the same $1 box.

What part of this country do you find these tools? I am just curious if you are in California or mid country or east. Here in Ky I just never come across these cool tolls.
I'm from Vermont. Really isn't much around here but I'm very active. Always on the hunt for a real no matter where it's at ha. Occasionally I'll find something good. Local but not often.

Crappy picture from a while ago, but a few of mine are marked indestro while others are either not marked at all or marked something else I'll have to check. I'm sure the markings wear off pretty quickly though.

Here is an interesting little hammer. Weighs 7.7 ounces so it is a serious tool.
