...Did I miss the cabinet that has a hidden 50" plasma that rises up with a push of a button, seriously, this place has everything else...
Hello All,
Just a quick update- I've been taking on all sorts of projects in the garage. The lift has dramatically changed the way I work in there. Jobs that I used to dread are so much easier now. Here's the latest video of me monkeying around in there. Thanks for watching!
Hi Tom, I notice that your posts straddle the saw-cuts in the concrete slab? Is that something that is OK by Bendpak? I have a similar situation in my garage and most people have been telling me that i have to rip up the old concrete where the posts will go and pour a new, seamless pad.
Hi Mr Turbo Garage. My first post but I've been reading some great ideas for a few weeks. I am almost ready to start permitting and stumbled on your project when searching "garage doors". Coincidentally, my plans look strangely similar with attic trusses and scissor trusses for a lift. My question is about the brand and type of door you chose for that bay to give vehicle clearance. Thanks, Rick.
Nice space ya got there!
Very, very close to what I envision my "perfect" garage to be once complete, well... gotta start first, but thats another story.
Love the DSM's, the GN is also very nice!
I will post more the the "toys" section soon , but here are my DSM's,
Again, great job on the Garage, stunning!
Enjoy it, it appears you worked very hard on it.
Daniel
Hi Tom. Thanks for the info on the jackshaft opener. Hopefully I will start posting pics regularly in the fall. I'll get a pic of my turbo up soon (997). Your talents and planning inspire me as well as the projects of others on this forum. Thanks Rick
Hi everyone! Got a new video from the old garage, thanks for checking it out!
Tom's Turbo Garage: Let's Get Ready to Race!
Great video. Now I will never look at a sawzall without hearing your sawzall theme and special effects.
very nice setup!!! ... did you apply a sealer to your floor ?? sorry if you answered this, I may have missed it ...
Love the GN ... had an '87 that i sold with 21K miles about 15 yrs ago to raise funds to build a house ... one of the only cars I wish I still had. Looked like yours with GNX style wheels .. loved that car.
Haha thanks man! That dang song was in my head for weeks before I finally recorded it. I actually have a bunch of lyrics for the song too- maybe I'll put out a full-length version of "SAWZALL!" someday.![]()
A pretty cool build and good timeline of the garage build process - I'm sure it's nice to have plenty of room to work and store odds and ends.
As most have said, lucky on the lift, probably makes every car-related task 10x easier and less challenging.
I need one!! but probably need a real garage first, and maybe a house so the garage can be part of that. haha
Just read through the whole thread, fantastic build! I love how you solved the issue of lift clearance.
Awesome cars as well, your Miata is absolute perfection, and I have always liked the looks of the GN. Any pics of your Starion? I have an 88' SHP myself:
Awesome stuff man...
