The micro corrugated is my name for it and it is very hard to find. I had to have it specially ordered. I looked high and low to find it, and while I found it on the internet the freight would eat you up. Luckily I found a roofing supply store locally that could get it. The proper name for it is
1 1/4 corrugated utility galvanized. I think that is means 1 1/4 inch between the corrugated hi and low.

I like the looks of it over the wider corrugated panel. It just adds something to the overall look.

Looks like you did the back of the garage door in the corrugated...great look. How much weight did that add to the door and did you increase the spring rates to get the LiftMaster 3800 to work properly? How did you attach the corrugated to the door?

I don't know how many times I have looked at the pics and I am just in awe. I showed the wife and she loves it. One thing that really sticks out though that I would change if it were mine would be the NOS light. Although it is uber cool, to me it doesn't seem to fit in. With all the black and silver everywhere, the blue and red just stands out too much. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like it, but it just doesn't seem to fit in with the theme.

The corrugated on the inside of the garage door is thinner than normal corrugated and does not weigh that much. I did not have to adjust anything when i installed it. The garage door opener seems to not be affected by the extra weight. The corrugated pieces are held in place with sheet metal screws and all the huricane bars cover most of the screws and hold the pieces on tight.

I know what you mean about the nos light. I could not resist it's coolness once i made it.

Thanks for the info on the corrugated metal. I'm planning on using it on some of my walls and the smaller stuff looks way cleaner. Decisions, decisions. . .

I'm safe to say the wife will not be needing that air compressor. I'll be by Saturday to pick it up . Nice project. I'd imagine had you had all the work done by some *cough* decorator you'd be looking at double what you spent.

Not only did she not need the air compressor she did not need all the other **** of mine that was jammed into "her" garage, go figure. She also loves being able to open the garage door when she gets home and park inside, as opposed to everyday playing spin the wheel to see what jalopy of a project I drug home and decided to take apart in her garage.

Yes I agree that it would have easily been double what I spent had I not made most everything and installed it all my self.

4. Why three rolls of toilet paper? Soft, Med, Abrasive?

I'm going to guess with this theme he probably has it as grit count. The third one could probably be substituted for when you're in short supply of sanding a rusted steel part.


I like the idea and I like the things used as furniture and fixtures, but the whole space is really "cold" for me... but that is just personal taste.

Yeah we usually try to keep at least one of the toilet paper rolls at a minimum 1500 grit in case wet sanding becomes necessary.

However, I'm confused about the upside down flames over the work bench. Why didn't you mount them right side up? Or have them water-jetted in "negative" so the black wall created the flames?

It is a hang out spot and a shop. I wish it stayed as clean as it looks in the photos, but it takes me no time at all to have a huge mess. As far as the flames above the workbench I can only plead insanity. After building the shop and doing everything on the inside I guess I could not see the forest for the trees. I just had it in my head to have diamond plate behind the tv and let the flames run down the wall. You know what they say about hind sight. Thanks for all the positive comments .

DUDE! You are are quite talented! If you're not a designer, you're certainly in the wrong occupation. Besides the design, the execution is flawless.

Can you show us some pictures six months from now? I'd like to see it in use.

I, too, like the hot rod parked there, what's the story on it? Any thread on it?

Looking forward to more pics (night time?) with two different settings:
- Party mode; people, lights, music, T.V., etc., etc..
- Work mode; new project car, parts everywhere, tools scattered, empties strewn about, you know, normal working garage/shop stuff.
