That is a thing of beauty.

Well done.
Thank you Madjik Man
That's the first time I've seen a cardboard box for the Nugget tools Nice find!!
Every so often I get lucky. You got me by minutes on the T-15. :)
So we are going into round 3 with the score tied.

I haven't made much progress on the red rover that I picked up. The plating kit company did give me another kit after determining that the one they sent to me was defective. I haven't resumed that project just yet.

You should tell me where this other rover is. :D

I have the nugget display board finished and found a resting place for it today.
I had to rearrange my whole blackhawk wall to make room for it

IMG_1433.JPG

I moved the nuggets all together putting the torpedos in the display case below the display

What do you think Blackhawk was going for with that Concentric-ish circle backboard? is it supposed to represent something? Also, that T breaker with the weighted ends, when was it's 1st appearance in a catalog?

That’s a great point X! I wondered the same thing. Does the disk fit into a much larger marketing scheme? Did they have other displays similar to this one that were point of sale? Also is there many pictures of their displays in stores? I think this would answer a lot of questions. I have seen similar Plomb/Proto displays and have seen documentation from those companies about advertising point is sale displays and the companies sales perspective towards it. Proto had a bi-monthly “tool news” mailer they would send out discussing the advertising and I wonder if BH did the same thing?

Nice little 50B Nugget set I just picked up, even has some of the original paperwork. Gotta love that gold trim!

About 30 or so of the original 50 tools are still in it, so decent progress towards completing the whole set already. 🙂

That's a great find
Do you collect blackhawk or are you just starting out?
I have that same box but didn't know which tool set came with it
Thank you for clearing that up for me. Now I know what to look for

I collect a few different brands, mainly Craftsman but after finding some metal Blackhawk pegboard style tool boards at an estate sale a few years ago I snag cool old Blackhawk stuff when I can.

Still hunting for a floor jack. 🙂

ETA: the date code on everything from my set is a big 0, so I'm assuming that is 1940.

Nice work Josh
The hunt is most of the fun. Once you get it the work starts
Any luck finding tools for that old Chevy board. Any ideas for the hooks to hold the tools?
I'm about ready to start on mine but haven't decided on what to make the hooks out of or how to fasten them to the board.
I'm liking that old clock face in the next room

Holy **** that’s amazing! I love the documentation that’s there. That’s a serious time warp. Lots of envious viewers here ! I think you need to go buy a lottery ticket.

Just finished up the tool cart on the right and got with two more coming and 4 jack to finish up. Who knows what I’ll find next....

Nice work on that roller! Is the Porto power sign original or a repop?

This is a rare Blackhawk 7/16" drive tool maybe. Doesn't fit in the torpedo looking box though, fix up that bigger nugget box for this one.

Blackhawk used that box for many sets. Later ones were red and latch changed a bit.

They are certainly out there and sometimes they appear at, "you ****" pricing. This one slipped through my fingers because of the seller's unwillingness to allow a 3rd party pay and pickup the item for me. :dunno:

It sold for 80 bucks.
I know this is an old post and bringing this up will probalby rub salt into a wound but dang....this is the worst. Such a nice piece! I hope it went to an appreciative collector.

I run into far worse things present day. The last 3 years have made me reconsider how I acquire things that I like from now on.

This one still crosses my mind from time to time but having a red rover to restore now has made things a bit better.
