c-hawk. go back one page.(pg 12 post#238)
that looks like the one in the center.
if i had to guess id say 70s.
Beat: i picked up this Blackhawk socket set a while ago and wanted to shine them up before posting them. they are way down on the to do list so thought i'd post maybe a before and after. i might use them in my daily box or are they too old and too rare to risk losing one of them? i think they are 1929's or around because i found this catalog page. since you might have the catalogs and the knowledge i thought i'd ask you. i'm not going to wire wheel them and was thinking of just simple green and a rag or what would you do?
All: of course if somebody else knows any information please enlighten me.

These were my Grandfathers.

You may want to post what you're missing? It was suggested I post a few pics of the 3/4 Blackhawk pieces I bought a week or so ago on this Blackhawk thread. From information I saw a couple pages back it listed each item of the set "14BD" and the original set contained 15 pieces plus the box, I have 12 of the pieces plus the original box. Here are a few pics of the ratchet, sliding offset, extension and a couple of the sockets. About half the sockets appear to have never been used. Each of the ratchet, extension etc has the corresponding 699XX number and the sockets have a 600XX as is described on the catalog sheet on page 12 of this thread.
Again, super nice set....
I'm a bit curious about the ratchet. If the ratchet is original to the set, the "circular grip" style of the handle dates the set to 1947 or later. However, in 3/4" drive I've seen this handle style on an early designed "broached tooth" head and a later designed "Bald" head.
Any pics of the ratchet selector mechanism?
I just checked my blackhawk supply and I don't have any of the pieces you need.![]()
Here are a couple of pics

help me out gang. i found a blackhawk ign wrench set yesterday.
