Looks like 1 1/8 deep socket.

Thanks I see it now. The socket next to the drag link was playing vision games with me. That is a very nice set. I have one partial that I have been working on slowly trying to complete.

They are scarce. I was fortunate to find this one. Found a nice points file and a number of lock washers in there as well!

Nice. Still have some decal. That little half speeder is awesome. I have the husky version and have used it a couple times.

Never knew husky made a version of that crank speeder. Very nice one day I will hopefully have a complete set but the QD stuff is very hard to come by.

If possible, major dimensions, circ of head and pic of retaining ball would be awesome.

Sorry for the upside down picture. My phone is not cooperating lately with that for some reason.

I will post some more pics of speeder later. I think blackhawk licensed it from husky or maybe visa versa. Came in this early husky set, ca.1924?

Mine has a patent on the crank and a date of 1926.

Should be the patent for the handle right?

Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
It is on the handle no Pat number just a date of Feb 23 1926.7df9110df41e85ab6b02ee69bf7a2f76.jpg

I have not measured it, but should be. Here is a comparative pic of husky ratchet from set with a snap on no. 7.

Indeed. And, unlike other Mfgrs, I hardly ever see Blackhawk Q.D. era stuff in onesy-twosies at flea markets. A few D- series socket here and there. And much older Indian head logo sockets here and there. I never see an orphan Q.D. era handle or extension. I have had a 32-CD set and an 18-A set, and both of them I found complete. I have always thought of that as a testament to its quality. The former owners kept them forever and only when they died did they pass on to someone else more or less intact.

BTW, they dropped the crank handle sometime after 1926 and before 1930, around the same time they added double-hex sockets. It wasn't in any of the "D" (double-hex) era sets.

If you mean the pressed steel rotating grip, definitely. EDIT: To be more technically precise, assigned to American Grinder. Patent 1,574,136. Filed in 1922 and found on tools long before it was granted.

Saw this on eBay and made an offer. Didn't realize they made one with wood handles! I can only assume the Patent Pending refers to the lock-on feature.d821f6bfe449ab54b7c29542a7988361.jpgdab7816c7e9f5d4bd42318e18b736cca.jpgc8a768efbbdb5bb1122d301eaf93f516.jpgcc581d7b0669fffa583431b36b3786b6.jpga3fda89f665a60b4fb222dc2abdd80e1.jpg
