Oops, Oh well, I'll just leave it that way, no need to fix it now it is more fun this way.
JB
yeah i got a giggle out of that, had the same comment lined up as andy. Was that the SSBC kit you put on the Mustang? How'd you like it? I did a Granada conversion on one of my 67's. Single piston though.
Hey you gonna make it to Andys funny farm on Thursday?

As soon as it was together I knew I wasn't getting correct data from them as they never moved from .45 volts. Typically they should go from ~.1 to .95 volts give or take and go back and fourth between the two.
I also don't think I'm just blowing through the torque converter.
I was finely able to figure out a problem with the S10, the O2 sensors. Let me catch you up on where all I've been with them. I'm only running the front sensors as I'm not concerned what the O2's are after the catalytic converters. As soon as it was together I knew I wasn't getting correct data from them as they never moved from .45 volts. I replaced one after my attempt at a bench test said it failed. Still nothing, I replaced both of them with a different brand and still nothing. What I didn't do is properly diagnose them but didn't really know how at the time. I took the time to really dig in and eventually discovered the harness I purchased was not wired correctly.
The tan and tan/white wires were in the correct location going into the computer for sensor 1 on each bank. The purple and purple/white wires were wired for sensor 2 on each bank of the engine. So I was getting 1/2 of a signal for each sensor and the computer couldn't figure it out.
I pulled the plug and moved the purple and purple/white wires, started the truck and logged the results:

Working great now.
I also dug into a previous 80% throttle run from 8 mph to 70 mph where I was looking for transmission slip. I thought I discovered I was slipping really bad at low speeds and high load. Turns out I don't think I am slipping at all it was just the speed difference because of the gear I was in. [emoji38]_hitti I also don't think I'm just blowing through the torque converter.
Now I have to try to figure out why it feels like a dog, not nearly as fast as I would expect for the amount of power it should have. Hmmm.
On a related note the drag strip in Arkansas City, Kansas is supposed to re-open after a few years on the 21st of September. I may just have to take a trip up there and make a run and log it to see if I can discover any other problems I might be having.
JB
Sure makes sense now. Are you using HP Tuners? Clear out your kam memory and start from scratch now that you can control fuel in closed loop, follow your AFR's at part and full throttle, adjust as needed, then go to timing, transmission, etc. Good luck!

Yep spot on Ric.![]()
JB Great to see that you found the cause of the O2 problem. Do you ever make it to the Last Run in Ark City?
Dwight
Last Run is coming up, its a old and nice car show. Usually have around 1200, of all kinds of vehicles. They also have vendors that sell car parts to flea market , and Tee shirts. It cost a few bucks for entry, but nice park location. If you have a nice paint job on your vehicle, don't park it close to the kiddy swings and other play ground stuff. Sometimes some kids will throw the small rocks at cars etc. Ask me how I know. I think on Sunday they open the drag strip, not sure if they do the nostalgia drags this year or not?
JB, I had a lady give me some old cover alls that belonged to her husbands friend. They are from CONOCO, one pair are from the 40's and it looks like the logo was painted on, Another pair has the patches about Ponca City, and got a old plastic hard hat that has the logo on it. These were before Phillips merged or bought out CONOCO. I will try and get some pictures of the stuff. They look like they would fit you, I think men were just physically smaller back in the 40's and 50's.![]()

It ran like a completely different car. Before I'd have to really get on it and try to break the tire loose in 1st. Now in 2nd when I punch it I'm on a slip-n-slide, it caught me off guard the first time but I learned to love it. Good to see you are getting things in tip top running order! Do you work at a refinery? My uncle worked at a small private( later owned by Co-op) one across the river from my home town and I remember the big shutdown to install the first, and only, cracking tower in Nebraska. Big deal in a small town and they threw a big, free bbq for the unveiling and fire-up! People, especially farmers, were worried the atea would run out of fuel No pipeline into the area then. Gas was $0.16/gal! Hope it goes/went well.No problem now Herb, I could have borrowed one as well but got tired of it sitting on my wish list and wanted to give it a shot. Now the only vehicle I own that I can use a timing light on is timed...I guess I don't need it anymore, or need to buy another vehicle to use it on. LOL

I was about to ask you what prompted the car wash, then realised you were just making sure it continues to deliver sensible mileage.
Funny hot the “blue car” looks very clean and shiny, however, I suspect the consumption is a bit better, or is that worse than the 48 average.

Cobra? Where’d that come from? Lol. Wish my daily driver got 18 mpg let alone 48.

JB I luv the Cobra. I am glad you are getting on top of things.![]()

I believe that is the Warthog that hides in the garage.
Beautiful car, by the way.
Between the games on Saturday I helped my BIL move, had a break for lunch and made a huge mistake and ate something I shouldn't have. My stomach has been very mad at me since but I think is finely getting better now. The other mistake I made wasn't as involuntary, I tweaked my back again but it didn't really start hurting until later at night. Now I'm pretty much useless to do anything but still had to mow on Sunday and that didn't do it any favors. I don't recommend having GI issues and severe back pain at the same time. It makes for some rough days. I cleaned the shop a bit and got sidetracked on drill bits. I have one complete set of bits from tiny to 1/2" that I use most of the time and keep sharp but have a bunch of other misc. bits I inherited from my grandfather that needed sharpening. I spent a couple hours playing on the Drill Dr. and they are all done now:

I have a couple million I will send you so you can get really good at it.
Thanks for the offer though.Looks a little bit better.

Outlaw,
You are correct in that it is a red/blue harness for a 411 drive-by-cable ECU. I already have a bench harness that I made a couple of months ago, but what is the PP your referring to?
It is actually going to be a standalone harness to control a 5.3L LM7 (LS based engine) and a 4L60E transmission. The plan for now is to put that into my brothers in-laws '83 C10. I've been asked to install a cam and do a basic tune on the engine to get it running, they will install it and I'll do the final tune on the engine once the truck is running. My plan is to get it all together, install it on the old Suburban frame and do the test running and initial tuning on that chassis. We shall see how that plan goes though.
JB

I thought maybe it was for Pinkie Pie.
I have another engine I can use for P.P. and two more harnesses if needed. I think I just have too many projects
Ambitious project!![]()
Nope, not that, I just have a work problem, work gets in the way of shop time that is a problem.
