Sorry for the delay, been busy as usual it seems. The coolest news is this:
Yep, got the Ol' B running again, fires right up and just chugs along. The main issue was the float was gummed up in the carb, cleaned the pivot point, and it ran like a top, well a two cylinder top a just a few RPM.
In other news I hadn't been able to adjust the top link on the mower on the 4010 since installing it. I couldn't turn it with my normal sized pipe wrench so I picked up a 36" (~.91m), and still couldn't move it even soaking in Kroll so this happened:
With about 10' of leverage it was pretty easy to turn and much better now. I also started making exhaust gaskets for the collectors on the cobra. I'm cutting them out of Hanna NA1076, I got a scrap from work and it is rated at 700°F (371°C) so hopefully it works but they have never had a gasket before so it won't be worse:
Oh and I got the engine back on Friday, 5.5 weeks after dropping it off, I'll take it. I should have just put an LS in it, it would have been SSSOOOOOOO much cheaper in the long run, I know all the arguments, but darn. Anyway, getting closer, last part arrives today and I'll fire it up tonight:
Y'all have a good one,
JB
