MrPink,Kreen is awesome stuff as is AreoKroil. I need to order some of both to have here in my own garage, I used it for years as a tech but I have been out of that now for 5yrs.
I really like the AreoKroil, and have used it in the shop for a few years now. If it is the same I suppose I could just spray some in the engine if I can't find the can of Kreen.
Slowbuilder,You didn't mention what year Impala SS - One from the 60's or the 90's?? Also, what weight of oil was used?
If it's from the '60s, I'd expect at 192,000 it's time for a set of rod bearings. Or, it may be so sludged up that the oil doesn't drain out of the heads and lifter valley, preventing enough to accumulate in the sump for the pump to build pressure, especially if the rotating assembly is "loose"...
It is a 2008 with the transverse mounted LS4 5.3 v8, very fun car to drive around. It calls for 5w-30 and that is what I put in, I can't verify what was in it before that oil change.
I did a bit more diagnosing last night and without pulling the engine I'm pretty much at a stand still other than trying some oil treatment and flush. I'll pick something up today and dump it in before my drive home (I'll read the directions, shocking I know but not my car so I'll be careful.), I drove it to work and other than shortly after initial startup the light never came back on. Everything sounded good as well.

I was pleased to see it had the 148 loader on it, seems to be pretty usable and much easier to work on the engine that the way mine is attached on the 4010.
