Well time for a new thread, hope I am better with updating this one than the last.

old place has a 24x24 with 9.5’ ceiling

new place is 24x26x8 and another 8x26 of roof overhang that’s gonna accommodate an outdoor bbq area and lounge area with a cheap TV. Also now we have amother 24x24 of gravel pads for the truck, trailer and camper.

here’s the move in pics as we got it. GF has mandated me to get the DD car as well ATV all back up to snuff before the project goes in.949586A4-1F85-49A7-8581-FB885DD1D72A.jpegD71E41F9-DC26-4E87-B81C-316CABC8D7B7.jpeg81AE7943-1079-46D2-B122-A2B1F71C1C6B.jpeg

Installed 7 low profile LED fixtures as well a ceiling fan……now I really need to install the speed control but waiting til later today, hoping the new wall control also makes this fan reversible for winter.

until then I shall do some things around the house! Momma ain’t too pleased doing dishes in the sink with a brand new Bosch washer right there. We found out last night whoever installed the thing did not read the manual…..they went and looped the drain hose behind it……air locks don’t help with draining water!B94FB125-05F0-4614-A426-37DCFC466A99.jpeg

Even though life has slowed down, it’s still crazy with having to rush our little frenchie Nola, back to the big city for surgery when she lost all use of her back legs couple weeks ago. Hope that little terrorist gets to come home soon. We have already blocked off stairs and the GF has hinted at a ramp for the back door. Least our English bulldog, Molly is not the most active dog out there, she will be miminally affected by this.

in the meantime with vacation coming up fast, (I have a Holley sniper kit in my Amazon cart that’s just waiting for me to hit check out on)…..I have troubleshooted the breaker box to the point I found the new double pole 30 amp breaker was more of an issue than the old one was. my option now is to swap out the whole breaker box for a newer one with no outdated style breakers and way more slots But that’s a project for another day. but in meantime I ran the 8/2 wires thru some leftover Copper piping Now an old buddy came down here to trade me his more practical (although damn noisy) to me 60 gallon air compressor and 800 cash for my big one that was more power hungry for me to want to deal with.8D6249F4-FE0E-425C-9A16-51DD0F1A88A8.jpeg057F8FA2-63B9-45FD-B45F-5036761692AF.jpeg9AE6B85D-7366-4EA0-94FD-498802478BE4.jpeg

also now retrofitted my old copper piping system into this one with not only 1 but 2 50’ air hose reels, one at the big door to service any out back or on the gravel pad, then one in the middle up front for most of My work up front. We found even though the depths of both garages were the same, I have way more room in front of the bronco.8CECF75A-6399-4829-90A1-05D3714C7E69.jpeg5FAC7556-EEDC-4A84-951B-ABCCB9265913.jpeg3E816760-42C5-46D2-B551-9F49504459E0.jpeg

More storage was dragged home, this little thing will keep my quad out of the garage and other camping gear to boot. It’s gonna become a little workshop out in the hills to boot. Big car hauler is heading to my buddies acreage. He needs to fix the wires he cut to boot lol.4EF4955E-DE89-4EAA-AB02-ADB0035E0C60.jpeg

Time to ditch the space wasting infrared heater that runs down the whole one side of the garage. Picked up this Mr Heater forced air unit, black edition no less! The swap should happen later today.F698DF13-9D87-4676-92E1-0667D52CDA54.jpeg

and she’s up!

had a small gas leak on the initial install that I couldn’t detect with soap and water, so I ripped it all the gas line fittings back out and redoped them on the table. Also eliminated one 90* fitting which in turn Eliminated a ‘p trap‘ out of the ceiling a tucked the gas line up closer to the ceiling.

now I can get back to fabricating my RTT rack for the truck.1B0B9E8A-53FC-4BF5-850B-03F66B8E3A5F.jpeg1F1E9B92-92A2-4BEE-B979-3337193FBA03.jpeg6D583C85-DFCF-409D-9DD4-8B8D3F39FF95.jpeg

Another little detail buttoned up.

pulled all the banged up, scratched up pieces off my dads old Honda 1000 Gen set to scotchbrite and paint.

wasn’t gonna touch the main body other than a good cleaning of every nook and cranny I could get my fingers into.

now once short term self isolation ends, I plan to buy a litre or two of Royal Purple 5w20 for it. She’s then ready for camping season, with 40’ of extension cord!3CED2706-4B3E-44E4-AF08-F7BCD86EB865.jpegCD23AE9D-E97F-4495-9E83-A032495BE926.jpeg

No pictures for this post, dropped the rear of the bronco down 2-3” so now she’s set up for 6” uptravel and 8” down. It’s been a long time since I have felt motivated to work on her. Sunday I plan to self isolate out there more and button up some more loose bolts as well bolt down the cage and seats.

also while cruising FB I saw a not so local post for a Sniper EFI kit complete with screen for 1500, we agreed on 1400(similar on Amazon would be 2000+ when taxes tacked on) next week at a swap meet down this way.

Started on another side project. My mini toyhauler for the quad to be stored in as well hauled out to the mountains. Lino laid down and e track ran up the whole length. Need one more chunk to go across the front where I plan to store the small gen set and jerry cans.

ran out of aluminum angle iron for the baseboards as well screws. Now to think about ramp placement on the walls as well a spare tire mount.

a workbench and solar panels to charge up the quad and onboard battery is also in the plans.AA14C93A-1B84-40D8-B4B9-7F40B5D92756.jpeg

Very organized and detailed. Lots of time spent doing all those nick nack things. Nicely done. (Been absent from checking into GJ these days :( )
Best thing about moving out of Calgary into a slower pace of life was the more time to focus on the little things. Yes both of us said the house could use some updates/Reno’s but it’s fine for a year or two then do room by room. This spring/summer we are just gonna focus on the front and back yards.

Sure did, parking for 6+ ON the property inside the City, plus yard left over for my GF’s future greenhouse and grass for the dogs. Barely can go back to the big city without swearing. One more trip back with the trailer and the rest of the trips, strictly for pleasure or a day trip shopping.

In the times of being stuck on the property due to COVID, I banged out a few projects around the house but did get some time on the trailer.

now after 400 screws, I can safely haul my quad, jerry cans and generator 3+ hours back home.
still need to finish off the aluminum baseboards.

Solar panels are inbound via Amazon that will handle trickle charging of the quad as well a AGM battery to an invertor to run lights and a stereo, not to mention any charging of the cordless batteries we take out camping, just cause.3BA2548C-80F9-4320-99CB-BDB3A22598D0.jpeg

Was working on some frame additions to get a belly pan onto the bronco where I was swapping grinders in and out for cutting and grinding…. Ok time for a beer, oh there’s that power bar intended for the trailer….let’s see how much work to add it to the welding table…..

my Girlfriend Michelle says I am taking my ability to charge my phone a little too far lol!6E860C0B-4E88-4B9F-9D42-B42FA99CDB96.jpeg

Projects around here are dwindling down to what upgrades can we do to the place to make it more self enjoyable for us like bigger TV for upstairs, wood fire pit to swap in from the gas one (I now have capability to bring home a row(+)of stacked wood from camping once a month to cut, split and dry).

this week the rear suspension got welded out and all bolts captured.

time to work on brakes and 1350 driveshafts.
