Dan, I've also never have seen a tourqe converter that comes apart with out torching and welding.
That's quite a little project there.
My Dad was good at taking ****** apart and rebuilding. I wished I'd learned more from him on that.

Spoke with an older tech friend of mine that as a younger man had worked in trans rebuild shop he did remember doing them and told me of a guy that he worked with doing one and ending up with two speeds in reverse.

Just wanted to give you guys an update. I finished getting the Jetaway back together last Friday. (I had to order a couple extra parts for it). So now for the big moment..............install and test it out.




Sorry that I didn't get pictures of it being put back together but it's pretty hard to take pictures with your hands covered in ****** fluid.

The cab and the hood look like an NR Mack (the fenders are very different though - maybe it's a variant that we didn't get here?).

Well thanks in advance Mark. I think I have to rearrange the "wall of fame" a little. You guys have been great with the additions. Maybe Ryan will notice this thread and add something to it. After all, if it wasn't for him starting this forum, none of us would be talking to each other.

I'm happy to report to anyone following that the Jetaway is back where it belongs and seems to be preforming as it should. I don't expect any problems because usually if there is one it shows up immediately. Off to another project.

Mark, that well drilling rig is a military vehicle that has been converted to what it now is. I'm not up on the who's and what's about it.

You won't be liking the 72 Olds loaner right now Shorty. There is a milk crate in place of the drivers seat and no top on it at the present time. But if you want to send me a ****** to rebuild for you, that I can help you with. If you come up and help me for a week, we could have the seats and top done if we stay out of the beer long enough.

Wow Dan, that was surprisingly fast (they told me at the Post Office that it would likely take about 6 weeks) - obviously the planets were aligned and the parcel gods were smiling on it.

I knew I had some plates in the shed, but I couldn't quite remember where - then I realized that there where plates still attached to my '74 Impala (it hasn't been registered since about '92).
So I as I started to remove the front plate, I noticed a box nearby - with plates in it!

The Queensland plate was off a '72 Falcon ute that I owned in the mid-'80s (I'm a GM man, but the deal was too good to pass up) and the Victorian plate was on my '74 when I bought it.


As you get more contributions for the wall, have you got to point yet where you look at it and say "I think we're gonna need a bigger wall".
