The powertop is a very nice feature in my opinion. I also like the powerbank because it allows you to have all your chargers in a secure area. Beyond that, it is a personal choice. Not sure if they are running the same deals in Canada but ask your dealer if Snap-on Credit has any promos going on for buying an Epiq.

You get the same promos as we do then.

Yes, there is a rack for the powertools. I have not had one on my truck but I am told that it will come with everything you need for the powerbank to put your tools in it.

Chad,
Is that KRL rebate for each unit? Would a roll cab and chest be a total of $2400 in rebates?

Is there a public directory of Snap On dealers? I'm not on a dealers route but could be interested in 1022/1201 or 761/791.

the $1200 rebate is if you spending over $8000

so the none epiq rebate is $4,000- $7,000 spent = $400 rebate
$8,000 or more spent = $1,200 rebate

the Epiq rebate is less then $4000 spent + $400 rebate
$4,000 - $7,000 spent = $800 rebate
$8,000 or more spent = $1600 rebate

I'm getting myself an Extreme Green KRL1022 within the next week or so myself. I haven't decided whether or not I want a stainless steel top with it though. Anyways on a side note you can always add the powerbank to a krl box if you are on the fence about getting an epiq with it built in.

You're giving up a whole bank of drawers for that charging station.

Is it worth giving up all that storage capacity?

Not to me, but if you used cordless tools everyday, it would sure beat dragging out the chargers and extension cords everyday, and then having to remember to put them away at 5:00 so some a-hole doesn't take 'em.

The Epics are nice, just not my style.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts.

A guy I know has one and I made a little sicker that said "fail" and stuck it after epic..:lol_hitti

1. How many tools can you charge up at one time?

2. How many tools does that station hold?

3. What kind of cordless tools does that station hold?

Those are some questions I bet our resident dealers can't answer. :D

So in other words, you would need to see one in person before you could be sold one. That is a reasonable expectation for a new concept in tool storage.

I cannot answer those questions because I have never looked closely at those tool storage units at the tool shows. The area of town that the majority of my route is in could be called the the 'hood. I dont have any guys buying $12,000 toolboxes. All of the feedback that I have heard from other dealers that have sold them has been positive. If there were major design issues with the powerbank I know I would of seen feedback in the tool storage forum for the dealers.

I'm just wondering what it can do. I don't think I'd want to give up a whole bank of drawers just so I could keep one cordless impact gun and one cordless ratchet on the charger ...

If you only have one cordless impact and one cordless ratchet, then this box is not for you. It is a lot of space. It all depends on how you work and what tools you use on a regular basis.

The one that I looked at when I was at the SO roadshow last week was really nice.It had holster-type holders at the top.I think it could about 5 tools in the holders. There were 2 shelves below that was for the chargers that I think would hold about the same amount, like 5 or 6 if I remeber right. It really slides open nice, super sturdy. Not flimsy at all.
The way the electrical cord setup is made is really neat.I was wondering how they would design that part of it.

I liked the new drawer pull design better than the Lock N Roll. They are tilted back some so the drawers return real easily.I like how the top is shaped so tools or hardware won't roll off.

I like the lockers that they make for it,and the workstation.

If I I could afford it,I'd MAKE room for it!
