This drill has a bit jammed into the chuck and I would have to replace the chuck. Is it worth it? If not anyone in orange county want it?

I'd hold on to it if it still works but, if it don't its just not worth it, would be to hard/expensive to fix it.:dunno:

My first drill looked just like that. In 1975. Still have it, use it the most often.

I would keep it. Add penetrating oil.

Try undoing the chuck in each of the 3 key holes in turn.

Make many passes around.

To remove the chuck there is a left hand thread screw inside the bottom of the chuck that would have to be removed.

The chuck jaws were a bit loose and I jamed the bit into the back of the chuck and broke the bit.

It's still not really clear why it's stuck. Have you tried some penetrating oil and then turning it with a chuck key in each of the three holes as 404 said. Also have a go at alternately trying loosen and tighten it with the key, again going around all of the holes in turn. Keep going round and round until you get some movement.

You've got to get the bit out before you can remove the chuck to replace it anyway. It's all about getting the bit out right now, so give more details of how it's stuck and what you've already tried.
