I grabbed 2 of them while I could and have no use for them. If anyone misses out and wants the deal send me a PM and we will arrange everything.

There is a coupon available for an extra $10 in points that will stack on top of the save15 code. One time use coupon but it should show up in the load coupon area.

Thanks OP! I didn't really need one but I ordered one anyway cuz it was so purty looking. :badteeth:

It looks much better built than the plastic covered craftsman ones. I hope it is indeed made in the USA otherwise it will be going back to Sears.

Anyone know the LBs/NM line intervals or adj. increments? Tried to do a short search, saw a 15lbs stated, but a little unclear.

Thank OP

I own the 1/2 and 3/8 versions... they are really nice torque wrenches for the money. Note "Made in USA" has been removed from all of the advertising images for these, however I have not heard anyone getting any overseas stock. Just no guarantee of COO any longer.

I believe last we heard GW said they were still being made in the US, though that was a while ago now.

I can pick it up after tax/ reward points for 67 bucks, is this really that much nicer than a 10 buck harbor freight?

Yes, great build quality and probably US COO for a $67 torque wrench. The HF has pretty nice accuracy for what it is, but IMO not something worth keeping around long-term or having calibrated.

Please tell me what needs to be torqued down beyond 150 ft lbs.

I'm actually curious.

Usually when I look at a torque wrench I want to see if it will do smaller values.

Some axle nuts and crank bolts.

I've come across 160 ft lbs wheel lugs, I forget thread pitch. But most DIYer's won't see anything above 150...

I've had a HF torque wrench for over three yrs, 1/2" with 150 limit, no issues with it, it's only dropped ~1.2 ft lbs, being used 10-20 times a year....not bad. I'm a fan of USA made, and will pay extra for it..but HF stuff is getting better.

Axel nuts for sure.........can't replace a CV shaft without a bigger torque wrench.......got tired of borrowing one every time so I bit the bullet. Thanks OP for the great deal! I was going to buy the Husky branded version of this wrench from the Depot...........saved me another $20.

Did you guys know this is the same one Matco sells......and I think the list price from them is in the $300 plus range?

I'm with bubinga, I didn't need another one, but I bought one. I also have the rear axle nuts on my car need 365ft lbs this isn't going to work for that I bought a used Snap on for that and it's 4ft long. But for lugnut 93ft lbs I will use this all the time.

Geez, just set the new one to 250 and tighten, then set it to 115 and tighten again. ;);)

Looks like the Husky 1/2" drive torque wrench which is $84.97 at the current time.

Difference is the warranty. The Husky can be swapped at Home Depot and the Gearwrench needs to be sent, owners expense, to West Virginia.

Yeah, Husky came out with those about a year ago. It is believed that they are the exact same as the Gearwrench. You can find threads on the subject.

I also recall there being some debate about the warranty on the Husky ones. I see lifetime warranty on the product page, but IIRC not all of their torque wrenches are warrantied, so you might have some trouble trying to swap it out in the future.

Do you think this wrench is any better (besides the extra range) than my USA made Craftsman Microtork 44595?

While not a bad wrench, the Craftsman is in the range of the HF wrench which can be had for $9.99 on a regular basis. My father in law has had the HF for about 5 years and it's still within a pound or 2 in accuracy.

However, hold the Craftsman and the Gearwrench (or the Husky version) and you can see the difference in the amount of plastics in the handle area. MUCH closer to the Snap-On/CDI in build quality.

Re: This won't last long - - GearWrench Torque Wrench

Thanks OP . . . . . I think ! Great tool for the money as $69.70 after I used SAVE15, ShopYourWay and Sears credit card discounts (including tax and FREE shipping).

P.S. You may get another $10 off if you go over $100 on the order, but I just bought the torque wrench only.
