I am going to buy a new Bendpac HD9 series. I have not had my offer on the Craigslist used hoist rejected, but a few days have passed and I take that as a no.
When I add $100 inspection, $250 for take apart, $250 for reassembly and $200 for transportation, this changes a few things, for me. I might think differently if I could do the work myself.
The last inspection date stamp on this used four post was 1994, I was told.
I will not consider buying a hoist without a pre-inspection. I am not familiar with how the working parts should look. Parts are expensive. I don't want to get squashed, but more important, to me, I don't want to have any of my family hurt or killed.

Where are you buying your lift from? I'm in Vancouver too and looked at the same used lift you did. I was also told the lift was a few months old at which point I walked.

why inspection, take apart ,reassmble, and trans.

rent a trailer, driver under it, strap it off and take in one piece

I do 75% of my shop time in a wheelchair so the work may be beyond my ability. The take-apart and assembly by persons who know the product is important to me. I would like to know if there is a problem and have the problem fixed.
The traffic is very heavy and the width of the lift may be too wide for public roads. Adding a pilot car is not an cost effective option for me.
I left this four-post lift for another person to buy and I am moving on to buying a new unit and having it professionally assembled.
