So far I just aquired my First Garage :D
I'll see what I can do with it this year....
I think it will be interesting, for the people here with small garages, to see their progress. It's going to take me some time just to clean mine out.

how about "what can be accomplished in the gravel driveway outside the garage"? We've rebuilt entire cars out there. Engine swaps, body work, paint jobs(!) suspension work- you name it , it's been done. Makes me appreciate the garage I've got now!

But, to answer the question: My dad built the 283 for his Nomad in a closet that was about 5'x5' at the most.

My garage is a not a single car garage, but a multiple motorcycle garage. :see:

There has only been a car in it once, and it won't happen again. I prefer the couch and motorcycles with plenty of room.

size: 21'x12'x8'

It seems like one of the two bikes is stripped down every other week to fix something or modify it somehow. I'm very happy with the layout of the garage though, makes a great motorcycle shop.

Your dog ROCKS :rocker:

I like those plastic shelves you have in the corner. I have similar ones I use in the "Warehouse" at my business (aka the space in the corner not occupied by computer stuff). For $25-$30, very sturdy, and easy to access.

Yeah, for $30 you just can't beat them. I'm pretty happy with the plastic drawers also. I haven't broken them yet and that is saying a lot.

Thanks for the compliment on Tank. As you can tell he loves his couch. Looks kinda evil in the pics though cause of the flash.

That's a really nice garage you got there Luke. Looks like you have plenty of space to work on your bikes. Everything is comfortably placed with no clutter.

What kind of garage door opener is that ? :headscrat

I wanted the ceiling space to add more lights, and a garage door opener would have gone where I want the lights.

One of the guys posted pics of his I-drive opener that looks pretty slick. I'll probably end up getting one of those because it takes up almost no ceiling space.

SK2003- Dude! That's the largest roll of bubble wrap i've ever seen! i bet you
could pop that sucker for days :rocker:

Right now in a 20 x 18 or so, bare-minimum 2-car i've got:
1 '63 Chrysler (18' long)
2 motorcycles
2 adult bicycles
2 front fenders off a '62 Fleetwood 75 (don't laugh, they're 6ft long by
30" tall by 18" deep... trying to figure out how the heck to ship them
so i can get rid of them!!)
Table saw
MIG welder
Stand-up compressor (15 gallon, maybe? i forget)
Spare engine (on stand) and transmission
Permanently mounted drill press, vise, and grinder
5' workbench
Shelves, shelves, more shelves
Mower + assorted lawn care junk
Gigondo shop vac
26" wide by 6' tall roller cabinet
Tire-changing setup
It's all about maximizing your space (moving up and out as well as
across the walls), and organizing on priorities.

The Chrysler dominates the garage, and has to be parked on one side because otherwise it blocks the door to the house. So, it creates a main accessible area, on the door side, and a less-accessible area between it and the far wall that is usually reached by opening the main garage door- it's too tight a wiggle between the door and the car to bring anything of any size through.

So, the far side gets the stuff that's used less, or is primarily used outside. The bicycles, mounted high up on the wall. Underneath are the spare motor i'll get to someday, and packed around that are lawn chemicals. Also shelves with more
chemicals, bicycle parts, and jackstands. Then the compressor, since i
have more than enough hose to reach anywhere in the garage or outside- i
only need to go over there to turn it on or off. Then the fenders
, ladders, and some lawncare stuff are set underneath a shelf
mounted at head height, loaded with all my spare gas cans and other
fluids. This area needs to be reworked if i ever get rid of the fenders.

In the main section of the garage are all the work areas. Table saw
tucked in against the wall, under another head-level shelf packed with
automotive misc. If i want to work with anything large, though, i have
to move the car out. Shelves come almost up to the recessed doorway, and
my roller slides back and forth depending on which set i need access to.
The workbench, of course, has a cabinet above it and pegboard behind it
for tools. Out by the main door is another set of shelves, built to
leave a space to park the lawn mower with the handle folded up, and a
spare ****** from the '62. The second shelf holds all my used oil for
recycling plus my catch pans, then on top sits the drill press (which, unfortunately,
requires me to stand on a step to use it), shop vac, and trash bin.

Spare lumber is under the front of the Chrysler (unfortunately, this
means i can't keep much on hand, and almost never any sheets of
plywood), most other stuff is stacked on the shelves.

Oh, and you can see my portable spray booth temporarily sitting on top of one of the motorcycles :lol_hitti

So, what looks like a completely disorganized rat-pack of junk is actually fairly carefully thought out, just very, very full. i know where everything is, at least.

I didn't get any popups when I went to the site....
Maybe it was from the pornsites that you went to before you clicked that link
If you don't go to those sites do you have any teenage kids in the house?

Yeah, it's a lot of wrap....I have no use for it. The guy who lived there previously left it. Maybe I'll roll it out and go for a drive.

Nice Garage Dave !!! That's a true working garage.

Plenty of things can be accomplished in a small garage. Your only limit is your imagination and the fact you probably won't have a lift. But really imagination.

11.5' x 15' gargage taught me two things
1. put things away when not in use
2. My wife was right, there is such a thing as too many projects.

I have a local buddy buidling a pro-touring '68 (or maybe it's a '69) Camaro in a single car garage about 2 blocks from the oceanfront! He built a custom front sub-frame that utilizes C6 Corvette a-arms and spindles etc. and a customer rear setup that allows him to use a C4 vette rear end. I'm sure there are kits for that kind of stuff now, but when he started the project 3-4 years ago it was all custom.

He built the rotisserie himself, then sold it when he was done with it... very handy guy.
