How many of you are using a gas lense cup setup on your tig torch and how do you like it?

I've got one on my Alphatig. Same welder you have if I remember correctly. Anyway, better coverage, not sure I'm using any less gas. The new collets fit my tungsten a LOT better than the ones that came with the machine. I'm using a 17f torch
I use an a pyrex cup like this for small stuff. It's really nice to be able to see.

I looked at the Pyrex cups but heard you weren't supposed to weld in ac with them.
This true?
Yep we got the same welder and I just converted my torch over. Now I just need to try it out.

Correct, they are not AC friendly.
Although they work great for allowing longer stickout but if you need a clear cup to see what you are doing, you have other issues or are not doing something right. I have used them on occassion but they are quite fragile compared to a ceramic cup. The regular gas lense improves gas coverage over a standard collet and cup but I didn't see much of an advantage from a gas lense ceramic cup to the Pyrex.
I have heard that they work well on Titanium but I personally have not tried them on that, only chromoly.
Mike.
Gas lens on 20 series torch and I love it.
