Tonight I was out with a buddy. We stopped by a friend of his, that I've met before, as we drove by and saw his garage lights on. He was changing A-arm bushings on a truck.

He had the neatest store-bought "hack" tool I've ever seen!!
It worked perfect for the 1 bushing I saw him install.

A Tiger Tool C-frame press that used sockets (1/4, 3/8, & 1/2 drive) as the press adapters. I've been around, seen, and used many tools but I've never seen such a thing!

I'd bet we've all used a socket in a manner like this although it obviously not a recommended way of using a socket, and this type of use will probably lead to bad things happening to the socket.

Anybody here have or used one of these?
I thought it was pretty neat.

Disclaimer- I have absolutely no ties with this company. Just saying about a cool tool I saw.

Thats interesting. I have a Tiger Tool Ujoint set and its made to withstand the apocalypse. The socket setup seems a little hokey, but who here has never used a socket in a 12 or 20 ton hydraulic press? That C clamp is only rated to 2.5 tons.

Back when dad was teaching me how to fix my car when I broke it that's how I learned to change u joints was a C-clamp and a couple sockets. Not sure what's different about this and the old "hack" method other than $200 and this one locks the socket in so you don't have to worry about it slipping.

That's pretty slick, if it was at a lower price point I'd be all over it. I usually end up using sockets anyway and this would make that task easier.

Tiger Tool makes good stuff, much of it here in Canada. Ive seen their stuff before, they were really focused on heavy truck tools, looks like they are branching out into Automotive stuff.Cool tool.
