Hi guys,
I'm building my first garage at the end of the month. The concrete has been poured and the walls will be built from timber.
The timber will be built as individual panels like a 'kit house' and nailed together after placing them in their final position.
My walls will be made up as follows (internal to external);
1. 9mm plasterboard.
2. Tyvek Housewrap.
3. 4" x 2" Stud wall with insulation between studs.
4. sheathing like OSB - What thickness do I need?
5. Tyvek Housewrap again.
6. thin battons providing an air/ water gap.
7. softwood cladding (T&G siding).
What does everyone think? What would you guys recommend I change, if anything?
I'm a heating engineer, not a builder so any help would be appreciated.
thanks, jimbo
