Michelin guy here use Defenders ( green X) on a 2010 Impala (225/60/16 ) and happy with them , but I run more than what Gm says to inflate to ( run at 44 psi vs 30psi) , they handle better ( not mushy feel when turning) and last longer too . but they are a $156 a tire ,
at 30 psi ( what Gm wants ) they still handle ok but a little mushy in the steering and will spin the tires when wet , but the milage drops 3-5 mpg and squeal when you turn on asphalt and show signs of cupping ( shocks/struts have been replaced with KYB's and aligned )
on my firebird 98 base , use kuhmos ecsta AST's 245/50/16 ($75 ea) and am suprised how well they are , they have wet weather traction ( which firebirds are not known for ) and low noise when inflated to the proper pressure ,
