today's dumpster grab

I spotted a guy dumping a bucket of some scrap hardware at work today and I checked out what he dumped after he left and this is what I came upon. It was a little rusty, but a trip to the garage at work and a little wire wheel action at lunch...
a nice little Blue Point xs-1416 7/16 and 1/2 short offset box end wrench. Made in U.S.A. and a stylized "E" are on the reverse. A little research from Alloy Artifacts on date codes and they list the "E" as being 1944. Very cool indeed.
I also picked up a Stanley 7/16 nut driver with U.S.A and the number 66-514. I haven't been able to find much on this yet.

That is a nice score. I really have a soft spot for old hardline tools. They just never seem to give up as long as you get them greasy every now and then.

is it me or does that wrench look a little stripped out? Does it still work?

Yeah, I tried both ends on bolts that I have securing various loading presses and they fit very nicely.

I have that same nutdriver, but I have the entire SAE set in like new condition. When were Stanley's nutdrivers made in America?
