Toilet flange position?

I need some advise..

I just had a plumber replace a toilet flenge. He said it needs to settle and will be back tomorrow.
Now looking at the flange I'm confused, I'm not plumber, but shouldn't it be turned 45° for the screws to go correctly?

Looks like he will be using the slots at 9:00 and 3:00. From what I have read, there is less chance of cracking that way as the long slots are more prone to failure. I am not a plumber, just reading online many sites say that.

I just had a flange replaced and asked the plumber the same thing. His reply was that the short slots are stronger. As long as the flange is mounted properly, you shouldn't need to "adjust" anything. Yours appears to be done correctly.

That's how I do it ...

Even straight in they give a bit of wiggle room .... You want them square to the wall as it looks he did.

You only need the others when the flange is not installed correctly.

It seems that your plumber knows what he is doing. If he doesn’t get it I right he should be able to fix it on his nickel

Yep, that's how I did such as a 50 unit apartment complex 'super' (ha-ha) back in the day.
