It just makes me sad to see that.

Those are hammer strikes man; whoever did that needs to have their head hammered on.![]()
Merkava, you gotta get used to the idea that most people actually USE their tools... mind you, they don't always use them properly, but for most a tool is simply a means to get a desired job done.
The more I think about it, the more I start to realize that if I was going to choose a ratchet to abuse, Snap On would probably be the best choice. Why? Well, they are over-engineered compared to most other ratchets and SHOULD be able to withstand the added abuse....
IMHO anyway.

No!No!No! Snappy tools are great but with their **** warranty for me I would never abuse my SO tools, I would grab my Craftys to abuse since I have never had an issue with warranty on them, or if not the Craftys anything but the SO, never ever abuse SO tools, no warranty, or at least that is how I treat them!![]()
Point taken. I was coming from an over-engineered and manufactured standpoint. That is all....

When you guys break a bolt off, do you put the snap on back in it's velvet lined case and grab a craftsman to throw across the garage?
I heard Merkava won't even swear in front of his snappy's.

Tough looking, but for the right price I would still put him to work and not think twice!

I thought you were a mechanic, Merkava ? If that bothers you, you'd go into apoplexy in most workshops![]()

You guys are too tough for me; I can't even set my SO tools on the concrete floor when I'm using them under the car; I have to set them on cardboard so they won't get scratched.
Beating on a SO ratchet with a hammer is akin to burning the American flag; just a horrible thing to do IMO.![]()

That is a pretty insulting thing to say about the American Flag.Beating on a SO ratchet with a hammer is akin to burning the American flag; just a horrible thing to do IMO.![]()

Both nephews are diesel mechanicsYou guys would drop if you ever seen how my nephews use them. If they break....get a new one the next time the truck rolls in. My nephews use their tools. But what I really hate to see is my nephews 75th Anniversary. His looks like this with a matching sidebox http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/75th-Anniversary-Snap-On-Tool-Box_W0QQitemZ260223087963QQcmdZViewItem It sets out uncovered in a business that has semis and dumptrucks running in and out all day long. Both nephews are diesel mechanics

This may be a stupid question, but isn't that why we have pneumatic impact wrenches ... so that we don't have do strike a ratchet with a hammer?![]()
I'd ask you to do that with a filler plug where you can barely get a ratchet on it, and it's tight as hell, and you can't get a longer ratchet. It's either an oddly placed prybar, busted knuckles, hammer (yes I use soft face deadblows), or removing the transmission.

What's worse in when you HAVE the pneumatic tools, but no air compressor.![]()
