Not to side track the thread here form the OP , but how do you make sure you do not
Lose tools in the open tool bad designs? That's my greatest fear is something will fall out and I won't miss it until it is gone.
At least with the bag I bought, it has a solidly built bottom so it doesn't tip, even if only loaded down on one side. The pockets are all build tight, so it will take some time for it to be easier to get tools in and out and it will take some time to organize it to where everything fits properly.
My setup is mostly drivers (screwdrivers, nut drivers, torx drivers), ratchets, socket extensions, hex keys, pliers, cutters, strippers, crimpers, a small pry bar, Fluke meter, etc. It's landed on its side in the front seat of my truck when I've just tossed it in at the end of the day, and surprisingly nothing has fallen out.
My Craftsman zip up bag holds all the sockets on rails, wrench rolls, hammer, filter pliers, a 1/4" cordless impact, and some other small loose stuff that the open bag isn't really designed for.
