I have no experience with this, but my questions would be:
1. What do you do and how important will this box be to you?
2. How long do you plan on keeping it?

That's a hell of a lot of money to spend on a toolbox. If it's something that you will use everyday for 30 years then I would be more willing to say that would pay off than if it's a personal use box.

$12k for a toolbox! Run! I don't care if it is Snap-On made of 100% pure unobtainium, unless you have a money tree... run!!!

Well since all of that is full, it might be a good idea. Have pics of your current setup? And where would this behemoth go? It cannot be moved easily fully loaded.

What do you mean "pay out in the long run"? These boxes have a huge depreciation factor and very little demand.

Mr. Big is a lot of "show". I can't imagine too many techs. really need something this massive.

P.S. IMHO, I'd delete the attached quote since it has names, emails and phone numbers on it. Just list the quoted price.

I also have a snap on side box. the one that hangs on the side, and a small single bay snap on box that's 24 inches deep.

$24,000 for a tool box at 18% interest!!?? Does it come with a kitchen and bath?

Yes, the side lockers are bigger then most outhouses. It could easily accomcodate a crapper. (good ROI since it helps the tech beat the book)

No way IMO that's too much money and 18% interest. I would keep buying used boxes and use my money in other ways. Tool boxes are just that boxes they don't earn anything..

If they throw in a stainless top I'd do it. It seems like you have the need for it. I'd keep your epiq tool cart so you can move tools around when your farther away from the box.

It's an impressive box but you're the only one that can make that decision.

If you get it make sure to post some images.

Are yoiu planning on paying it out over time, or are you just financing it to get the $3k rebate with plans to pay it off shortly after?

What are you trading in to get the $12k in trade, the triple and the double?

If that's tge box you want/need and can't pay cash for it, go to a bank and get a line of credit which would offer a much lower rate. Buy the box with snap on credit to get the rebates, cut a cheque from the line of credit and pay the snap on bill the next day. Additionally, see if they'll throw in an extra or 2 like a riser or stainless top.

custom color tractor green, aka John Deere Green

I'm stupid jealous....I've got a quote here for a Tractor Green KRSC100....and I been debating it for 5 months now... I'd suggest black trim, but that's just me..

When shopping major boxes like that, I'd be shopping around. Pit one dealer against another...I've said it before here, and will say it again, I personally think that when it comes to high end..hard to beat a Macsimizer.

Hows your Tech Series treating you?

Have you looked into optimizing your tool count and reorganizing?

Why is the interest rate so high, 18%? Can't you get a personnal loan (unsecured loan) somewhere else that's below 10%?

So I am not a mechanic.. But I am also not broke due to not buying stuff like that.

No it would never pay out in the long run or your life.

The BOX does not make you any money at all. Your tools do. Go get 3 of the HF giant boxes and make a freight train out of them if you need big.

NO NO NO NO NO

Imagine what you could use that money for instead.. Set that aside in your rainy day fund and you will never stress over money again.

That the best answer I've heard so far. Stay out of debt and use the money you'll save for other things your going to want in the future.

It's all relative; If you make a good living, like when you're accountant comes to you at the end of the year and says "you need to show more expenses" go for it. If you struggle to meet payments some months, probably not a good idea.
