Well, I think he wins the toolbox tour competition. That's gotta be $1M+ worth of tools and boxes at retail.

What I always find interesting about the dudes that are DIY on his channel is how many have “a guy” that hooks them up with tool truck tools for cheap. Sometimes it’s a retiring dealer, sometimes it’s like an older guy getting out of the trade, but it is always something. I just find it kinda cool that it is a common phenomenon amongst them.

Good video. The I ended up with a few new items in my shopping cart as a result of watching it. The guy has a nose for deals, and bought most of that stuff used and cleaned it up. I'm going to give that purple power a try, as I like to keep all my stuff looking pristine.

Most auto jobs can be accomplished with a service cart like he has. I have one, or two. LOL The rest is for show and that's okay too. I'm passing down all my **** to two grandchildren so three sets required. Almost there. LOL

SnapOn salesman's children may get a college education at this guy's expense.
Is this the guy that has a ****-ton of distributor wrenches?

Yes, on the college education. He did buy a decent amount of it used, but not that much overall. And he was saying that he got 30% off on a lot of the lightly used stuff, which isn't actually that great of a deal IMO. With his $, he ought to be able to walk onto a truck and pay cash and get about that discount for new on basic hand tools.

No, on distributor wrench guy. This guy is a DIYer and has waaaaay more tools than distributor wrench guy. I watched it at 1.75X speed and was impressed with the amount of stuff he has. Most everything is SO, but he does have a lot of Bauer power tools, and some Icon stuff. I'm sure that more than 95% of his $ is in Snap On.

Again, DIYer that has 5X more than he needs, but very impressive collection. I was sick in January for almost a week, ugh, and watched a bunch of the toolbox tour videos; this guy has probably twice as much as anything I'd seen- and as a DIYer.

Nope, you’re not crazy. He said that he had a bunch of Icon stuff and didn’t get into Snappy until ‘23 I think. Probably fell down the same rabbit hole as a lot of us…you get your hands on one great tool and then your old stuff is never going to feel the same.

I know nurse anesthetists can make close to $250K a year if they are experienced, but he has to have some other business interests/inheritance to afford the tools, cars, other property mentioned in the video, etc. I wonder how he finds the time to buy all of that in such a short time, work on the vehicles, and work? He must be a human dynamo!

Really cool that he uses the tools and also admits that he also collects them.

Got a personal friend who races professionally and had the full Snap On race sponsorship for three years. His shop tool collection is very similar. It's crazy insane/fun to just wander through all the slides in all of the boxes.

He explained his work process in one part of it. He uses a cart to hold the tools he is using on a project, then he keeps there in that cart until he can clean them and put them away. He wipes each tool down with the Snap On tool wipes before putting them away to help prevent rust in the Florida humidity. I'll probably steal that process when I move back to Iowa in a few years. I like keeping my stuff nice also. Since I am not a professional, it isn't "costing me money" to clean things up when I put them away.

He mentioned the family business that his father started and his brother now manages.

Like the old saying, it's easy to have a million dollars if you start with $999,999.

I would argue that even for a professional mechanic, not taking the time to keep his tools clean can cost him money in the long run.
