I was in a guys shed who collected adjustable wrenches though. Now he had a problem!

Heh, I'm 55 and hang out with the local car crowd, most of the time I'm about the youngest guy there. At least around here the older guys are the only ones that can afford the nice cars, and the good women.
Don't have any police shed and painted vices, but I do have an old Scott's spreader (metal) hanging up in my garage, just because I think it looks kind of cool in my fifties garage. People's things can be whatever people want them to be, totally utilitarian and pragmatic, to purely nostalgic or for display purposes.
We makes tools for a specific purpose, but we also get to decide how to use them.

I bought my Snap-On (Wilton) 8" vise new like 25 years ago. I never liked it until I put smooth jaws in it and bolted the bench to the floor and wall. Now I love it!!! When I bought my vise, I could not afford it so had to make payments on it.

HEY BRO....my vise aint polished. that was a pic of it when i got it on that ebay deal about 6 years ago NEW for 200 clams. use the **** out if it. its not that clean anymore. with some rust on the side from when I thrash in the WORK garage,,,,,,,not my tv room#2
I aint jealous of anyone. The Pet Peeve it these guys that take a wilton-reed or any of these old vise's.....and paint them multi color and then display them like a woman displays her fine plates.....at least people eat on the plates on the Holidays...those vises are there like ornaments....and then a few on craigs for 700. They sit and sit and sit...... even on here....displays of vises all painted up like a barber shop sign......
I got set off yesterday looking on craigs........I dont Need anyones vise I already have 1.....ONE...
I havent been on this forum in a few years and Now I understand why others before me ranted about tool polishers..

Looks like somebody is trying to stir up interest in vises they want to sell to me.
Maybe you should take to facebook to complain about tool owners rather than a forum full of members that own, collect and use their tools.
