the prayer stick video popped up in my feed:

Have been thinking about adding another prayer stick and have been really eyeing the Flukes... any comments on build quality? Are they worthy of the Fluke name? I have experimented with cheap prayer sticks and have regretted them every time with the exception of a Klein that seems to be decent.

Ok..pretty sure this is the biggest Dewalt comparison I've ever seen out there...has anyone seen more compared head to head than this?

Hint: The difference between fastest and slowest is over 5 times as much.

New video up, a little off the tool side of things, but still interesting...I do a bit of live sound work, so I've been putting together a Pelican case with all the odds and ends I might need on a gig. Would love to hear any ideas you guys might have too about what to add!

So this is pretty exciting, Montezuma reached out to me a while ago to try out a new Triangle toolbox they just released today :) It's a pretty awesome box, well built and thought out, was pleasantly surprised (and not just saying this because they sent me one, it's honestly one of the nicer designs I've seen and way better built than the usual big box store brands).

Never owned or used one, but I like their design. Seen them in service trucks.
I would buy one as a top box or something otherwise stationary (maybe on a workbench).

Side note, I should make YT videos. It must be nice to get stuff for free, like an $800+ toolbox in this case.

It's a lot of work to do YT videos in general and even more so to work with manufacturers (though the rep at Montezuma was awesome). This is the first time I've actually done a review on something sent free but I've had a lot of offers to review random **** products and I'm not about to trade the reputation of my channel to spam **** products which can happen very easily when you're getting sent free stuff. Montezuma didn't give me a script or talking points or anything, they just said here check this out and do a video on it, that's it :)

I understand.

Not to say that anyone gives a **** about me, but I've unsubscribed and stopped watching many different mechanic/tools/automotive channels on YT over the years because they become nothing more than yet another infomercial/paid corporate shill.

It's difficult to quantify, but for me there comes a point where it's just too much. Or you know right away, say within the first 30 seconds of a video, but sadly it happens to guys that have also been making videos for years too...The channel grows too big and too popular I guess.

Yup, entirely agree. A lot of channels head that direction and I definitely want to avoid doing that on mine, hence the "free stuff" incentive isn't great...so I only want to do it on a limited basis when it makes sense.

A great box, only real advantage over the regular 30" is the power tool holder. Everything else is from the standard. One thing I hate is the giant logo, they could had done a small plaque or whatever. Montezuma makes great boxes regardless, not sure why stanley choose them, you would think they could just make one themselves.

They have other versions without the Dewalt logo.

Yeah seen the boxes and colours. Hard to justify tho 800$ wow that's just too much for a box like this. Powerbuilt has a box similar and at 400$ is way better priced. Also can fit just as many tools. The main feature is nice in this, but not a game changer at all. I can live with storing my impact sideways or anything really. I been looking at this types of boxes lately for a all terrain build using a garden cart. So have been researching prices and features. Deff nice to those willing to spend the cash.

It's more to do with the build quality here...just like snap-on boxes are way more expensive than harbor freight, there's something to be said about thick steel, good powder coat, weather sealing, etc. but I can understand they're not for everyone, even with the 10% off discount code, it is a premium price.

Been a little while, over a month, but I picked up the newish Dewalt Bandfile, and it's actually pretty awesome:

Picked this guy up while the sales were on, DCE530 cordless heat gun...seems to work well for heat shrink and tube bending, less annoying than dragging out my old corded one:

So a little more excitement, Montezuma sent me another new model released today of Dewalt branded tool box to check out. This is a smaller shop box size, much more reasonable price, and pretty slick little storage box for specific tasks!

Not sure that I want to pay $170 for it, but I like it. I've always liked the Montezuma design.

I can see them better suited for pro's doing specific jobs (be it in a facility, mechanics shop, or mobile) than they would be for the average DIY guy at home. Having one of these loaded up specifically to go like, do regular maintenance on such and such machine every month, would be ideal.

I think it can do more than that. I would use it as an general purpose portable kit for automotive much like I have a PackOut set up for. I like the tool accessibility aspect of the design of the Montezuma.

Yeah, having everything right there organized is definitely nice...but to your point, it's a bit more pricey than the rest (though at least it's full metal and not some flimsy plastic thing).

Well...this is a big one for me this week guys, Milwaukee tools actually have invaded my garage and we have a head to head with Dewalt for the first time ever! Hopefully this is the start of even better comparisons on the channel :)

Based on the reviews, I probably should have never made the $30 impulse purchase that I picked up at home depot on a whim...but decided to try it out for myself:

Trying something new, two minute tool reviews...I tend to pick up these relatively inexpensive tools that aren't worth a full review video, so figured I'd try a new quick format for them, have a few lined up, but starting here with the Jorgensen Mini Block Plane:

It has been a little while again, videos were slow while I was finishing up the basement, but getting back into them as the weather turns cooler and projects are wrapping up.

Have been using the little Dewalt cordless trim router for a while now (got it for basement stuff) and it's turned into such a handy little tool, nice size and alternative to my bigger DW618 corded router. Anyway, video is up this evening, check it out:
