Hahaha.

Nice purchases.

I have a shop-floor co-worker that got fed up with the slow response the MAC driver gave him when replacing or fixing tools, so in his "less than infinite wisdom" decided that he was going to "show" the MAC guy his dissatisfaction by trading in all his MAC tools to the Snap-On driver for SO replacments over the course of a few months.

The co-worker was so elated at his new SO tools but aloof to the fact he was only getting pennies on the dollar in return. I told our SO guy to stop by my office with teh MAC trade ins and I would be interested in what he was swapping out.

Last trade-in he did was for a full set of both 1/4 and 3/8" locking drive extensions as you have pictured. Barely used, I got them for $75 for each full set. IIRC, they're over $200 ea. set.

I laugh everytime I see the MAC guy or those extensions.

EDIT:I love these things especially with the pull lock collar and the knurled shaft.
I own both Mac and Snappy. Outside of my Mac dealer being flighty and hard to find along with the rest of them in the event you have a problem, I've had few problems with any of my Mac products.

Please say you are joking. I'd love to say I'm happy for you but I see the disapointment coming. I'd get a refund and hunt down a Snap-On man.

Awesome purchase!!!!

Sadly there is almost no MAC love on this board so get ready for all the negative comments (already some posted I see). For all the haters, I love Snap-On but I like MAC too so go back to ******* the Snap-On mans leg fanboys.

That is a pretty nice pick set!

You don't often see a set that big, usually have to buy a few sets to make up that one.

I use to love MAC tools. Sorry I'm not a fan of paying SO prices for Stanley Taiwan tools. As big a fan I am of Duralast I'm not paying 100 dollars for one of their ratchets. Just ask the Snap-On dealers here that as big a fan of Snap-On as I am I'm far from a SO leg humper. The last straw for me was a set of Taiwan Mac screwdrivers. The love isn't there for a reason

Those strike handle pry bars are half USA. The shanks are stamped USA. The handles are stamped Taiwan.
I have a set they bend abit more then the snap on pry bars, but the macs are alot skinnier lighter and easier to get into small areas.

I have beat the sh!t out of the 2 bigger ones and they hold up great.

I'm not saying MAC doesn't have more then their fair share of import junk but who doesn't? Granted, most of my import stuff is Matco and not Snap-On but I'm a big fan of Mac wrenches which are still US for the most part. I own American made Snap-On, MAC and Matco tools with my imports being mostly Matco and Craftsman. Not everyone on here is a snappy fanboy but it's pretty obvious which ones are. There just tools for Christ sakes, too many posters treat them like members of the family.

I have bills to pay in real life. I do not make my living with tools, I just want something decent I won't have to buy twice. If MAC has a good price that is fine with me. I would rather buy MAC than be held up with out a gun by Snap-On. Does the Snap-On guy lube it up before he sticks in your ***?

I see you don't have much experiance on tool trucks. The prices are very close.

Mrholeshot, no sir I do not, unfortinately there is zero oppertunity for me to get on a truck, I wish there was. The point of the original post was he got a good deal on the MAC, not that it was cheaper or better than Snap-On. I am pointing out I am not a Snap-On groupy and I would take advantage of the deal and be happy with the MAC at a good price. This does not mean I would pick MAC over Snap-On if they were the same items and the same price, just that the cost vs quality makes up the total deal for me, not just the brand. As stated I am not a pro wrencher just a hobbiest, and I am not going for a brand debate, I was mocking the guys that were riding the OP's balls about it not being Snap-On.

Guys, thanks for all the responses......I take all the MAC negativity with a grain of salt.........All the SO whores love SO for obvious reason, they make quality tools, just like all the toolmakers, some cost more, some cost less.

I will not disclose my full price, due to hated emails about you overpaid, and too undermine my distributor or other distributors on this board.

I will disclose 1 price, I saved over $100 on the 12 piece metric ratcheting wrench set, tax set me back over $97. So all you math wizards do the math.

All products are not made in the USA, I'm ok with that, knowing I can hunt down any MAC truck and get it replaced.

So for all the haters saying MAC *****, feel free. I have tools from SO, MAC and MATCO.............I'm not biased I buy what works and feels the best in my hand and what I can get for the best price. The majority of my other wrenches are SO, mostly SO screwdrivers, mini and ratcheting. Even though I will add the MAC ratcheting screwdriver is buy far better built than the SO 5 position ratcheting screwdriver.

I wasn't bashing you toolmaker...........On this board you have to be able to take jabs over what you bought vs cost.

I don't know wether it's jealousy or they hate MAC tools?????

I got a great deal and that's the bottom line.

I bought Mac tools for over 35 years. I still have some I hold near and dear to my heart. Mac turned a corner about 10 years ago and has been headed in a downward spiral ever since. I cleared out my account with MAC around 2006 after buying a bunch of Taiwan tools without disclosure or warning they had been outsoured. Mac is a perfect example that just because it comes off a tool truck doesn't make it great. It's not about being a "Snap-On *****" it's about quality and SO sets the standard on most hand tools. Those of us who have many years of tool buying experiance and use under our belts are just giving you the low down dirty truth. The biggest thing is that you are happy with your purchace. just don't expect those of us that have been burned by Mac to tell you we think you made a great purchace. I would have been more excited for you if you had bought a bunch of Gearwrench stuff. At least then I know you didn't overpay and got quality tools.

Good job on being your own person and buying what you like, nice bunch of tools you got there. Im new here and I cant believe the bashing people get here when they post up pics of the tools they buy. This guy didnt ask what any of you guys thought about his tools, he was just happy and proud of his purchase and wanted to share it with us. Seems like mr. holeshot spends his whole fricken day on this board and hassles people when they buy something he doesnt like.

Thanks, for mentioning Danaher, now that you mention I do remember that, Danaher makes Matco, Allen, Armstrong (?), and KD(?) I believe. I remember a while back when I was looking for something that there were a lot of commom part numbers with the Danaher and Gearwrench too, not sure what the connection is or was. Pretty sure Black and Decker still owns Dewalt and Porter Cable.

Correct me if I'm wrong here..........Stanley owns MAC and recently picked up Dewalt as well. Matco is owned by Danaher or however you spell it.
Correct. Black and Decker bought Dewalt years ago. Stanley merged with B&D Dewalt in 2010

Matco is owned by Danaher

I have a short green version of one of those striking pry bars. ***** that Autozone sells the same exact ones, only minus the little dumb MAC stamp that fades off of the polymer part of the handle. I do think that my shank part of the pry bar has USA stamped on it...I think?

Ok to quote Moose-LandTran this thread has gotten way off topic, the purpose of this thread was not to say I'm a MAC homo, just simply showing the purchase I made.

If you feel the need to bash MAC tools that's your opinion and they are assholes and everybody has one, if you feel the need to bash me, by all means. I won't loose sleep at night knowing their are keyboard killers and net nerds who have nothing better to do than ***** about a purchase or jealous that they can't afford to pay attention.

I'm an American Soldier, so I think I know the value of made in the USA, all tool companies outsource manufacturing to foreign countries to save money. How many of you on this thread/board own a foreign car, just food for thought.

Yes of the Big 3, it's all about personal preference and if you chose SO, MAC or Matco, it' your preference, just don't try to hate on someone for getting a great deal on great tools. I have never had a problem with warranty from MAC, SO or Matco.
