Well, things are coming along nicely. I'm "Re-learning" how I created some of the stuff on the old site, discovering new capabilities with the upgraded software, and realizing some of the functions I used in the old version aren't yet available for the new version.
Currently in the "design" phase of a new functionality that will allow you to find tool set (socket, wrench, etc.) configurations and keep your inventories right on the site. You'll no longer need your healthy spreadsheets to keep track of where you are and what you're missing to fill up your sets! You'll also be able to keep your inventory private, or allow people to contact you if they have something you're missing by publicizing your missing pieces. Because of the MASSIVE amount of work involved in documenting all these sets in the various brands and timeframes, this is going to be a "pay service," just a little something to cover expenses, probably like $1/month or thereabouts.
The other effort I've re-invigorated is the Trademark inventory. My plan is to allow you to search EVERY "tool-related" trademark ever registered. I've currently only listed the major manufacturers (Bonney, Blackhawk, Herbrand, Williams, etc.) on their pages but this will be a future search function. The intent is to allow searching by the mark, the mark description, timeframe, tool types so marked, and registering company as a minimum.
If you haven't yet brought up ToolArchives on your smartphone, give it a try. I've designed it to be very easy to use on your phone so you'll be able to take advantage of features like the ones above while on the move at sales/flea markets, etc.
Lastly, please don't hesitate to throw ideas our way for features/functions you'd like to see implemented. Focus on things that would help people in the hobby find and manage information quicker and easier.
Thanks! Todd
