Here's an old pic after doing a minor restoration. Mine bounced around on mine roads and has some pretty decent bruises but all the drawers are fine. It had one boo boo from an inept forklift operator.

The original nameplate and handle fell off over time and were forever lost. So those have been replaced. The lock and linkage are original.
I believe I lightly wet sanded it with 2000 grit and diluted simple green. Gotta be careful with that stuff, it will take paint off. After washing that down, it got polished with Klasse All in One and followed with Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze.
Of course, the drawers got removed and the slides cleaned and waxed.
I love boxes with battle scars. It gives them character and I'm not worried about actually using it.
The old Snap-on orangey red is a personal favorite.
