Some Facom goodies. :bounce: The tool bag is red and not pinkish as in the pictures.
Love the Nano set. A bit stiff action on the ratchet but I'll guess it'll settle with use.
Haven't tried the flex on serious bussiness yet but it is nice and smooth with a tight joint and a very good grip.

The only thing that says France on it is the driver handle.

Edit: Flex ratchet is 1/2". S153A.

Here is some of my ...? don´t know the word in english

nice double ended swivel head wrenches ! :) The Heyco wrench looks extra nice !

Packing of the Bosch 36V Lithium Ion Hammer Drill

Thanks for the pics !!! nice drill !!

i have also seen hitachi power tools made in ireland recently , i might pick some up.

Which tools ?? I only saw some Irish angle grinders and percussion/impact drills so far. (Subjective) Quality of the drillls is "soso" though (grind marks on the cast gear housing, cheap looking plastic, no-name chucks)

just found some stuff while sorting through some hand-me downs and thought of this thread. anyone know anything about the brands/origins? they are pretty rough at the moment.

then three "steinadler" germany wrenches, a box 11/16 - 19/32 an open ended 7/8 - 13/16 and an open ended 15/16 - 1 inch

The manufacturer of the "Steinadler" tools ("Kurt vom Stein & co.") has no homepage unfortunately. I don´t know if they still produce tools. The company still exists though. On ebay.de there are a bunch of "Steinadler" adjustable wrenches from the german army for sale.

Some Facom goodies.

nice Facom setup !!!!!

The Nano set  Maybe Monte knows the COO of all the pieces?

"different" :) Italy + France ??

Not really....these have been around for over a year and are being upgraded later this year. I really like the Festool drills but keep an old Panasonic 15.6 around for when a neighbor asks to borrow a drill.

Sweet drills !!!!
Which one do you like better ? The "T" model or the "C" model ?
Do you already have the "CXS" in the US ?
I wonder why Festool don´t offer the "Protool" line in the US ? The have nice drills too..... (4 speed)

No CSX yet....we have some new drills coming 3Q11 (always takes 12-24 months longer for us to get the new tools that are currently in use in Europe....even so, we still had a fair share of problems with the Kapex and I've had to replace both of mine).

I liked the original C12 and would use the superlight 1.3aH battery for extensive overhead work. I had a few of these around setup with both 1.3 and 3.0 batteries for use in the home and shop but gave them away (my wife still has hers) when the new ones came out.

hardware-2a.jpg

The new T12+3 and T15+3 are lighter than any of the previous versions and I feel the T15+3 is the best all around drill on the market right now (it comes standard with 4 different chucks and a pair of Li-ion batteries in a Systainer storage case.

I inquired about the BOSCH torque wrenches and they are made in Malaysia. I did not know they were assembled in the USA. I have been thinking of getting one myself.

Response from BOSCH (USA):
"Thank you for writing and for your interest in our Bosch Impact Wrenches. The models you listed are manufactured in Malaysia."

I would use impact wrenches from any of the top brands (Hazet, Stahlwille, Snap On, Gedore, Facom, etc.).

nice impact wrench !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much for the pics !! The question where it´s made/assembled often was asked here !

I definately would use impact sockets because the tool has more than 600 NM
. I always recommend name brand tools, in case of impact sockets for example Hazet, Gedore, Momento, Ozat, Koken etc.

Nice Facom tools!!

I think that every car should be sold with a Nano set in the trunk! :bounce:

How often do you celebrate christmas ?? :bounce:

About twice a week, what about you?

By the way, did Santa bring you a camcorder? :D

Made in Belgium? How interesting. You should go back and get it. :)

BTW if anyone knows of anything made in Belgium especially electronics I would love to hear about it. Later this year I'm hoping to buy a Belgian made FN 5.7 pistol. :)

Well, for the moment we mostly produce political crisis, are you interested in this kind of tools? :)

Nice FN, it's one of the last "old" industry that still work but not as well as before apparently... I study in Liège, this city was well known for its weapon industry in the past, a lot of small gun factories, a lot of armory schools... Now there's only one school left, with a lot less students than in the past, the FN Herstal is not the big factory as it was in the past, my grandfather worked there, my uncle too... Everybody had someone in their family who worked "at the FN", making gun, motorcycles, cars,...
Now, we almost never hear about the FN, it's a medium size factory as many others...

However I've recently read on a french forum a post from a belgian guy who worked in a factory that was making genuine Deckel FP1 and FP3 milling machines!
He said they were even better than the ones made in Munich because the belgian steel was better than German steel at that time (60's), I don't know if it's true...

We still produce some things here but for very specific markets and a lot of the industry is now in the chemistry, biotech field...

Missed that with these Bessey clamps:

Nice little clamps! do you know their coo? They're so cheap compared to "regular" Bessey clamp that I'd be surprised if they were made in Germany too...

More Facom with BMW M1 giclee by Dennis Mukai.

Very nice pictures, as usual

I have a question, you always make very neat garages, I'm a bit surprised to never see Lista cabinets with customs foam liners, is there a reason? too much works?

Only 22 posts and I already hate you! :bounce:

Very nice tool! Please let us know how you like it after some use, it seems like the ultimate cordless impact of the moment, definitely in my wish list!

Well, use impact sockets...

btw would someone have infos on impact sockets standards? I wonder if there is a standard for 1/2 sockets which can hold the 1500Nm torque claimed by the IR2135 ???

I have a few questions for you guys.

Next month I'll replace the kitchen of my mum, and at the same time replace the plumbing system and modernize the electrical system of the house (and begin the EIB-KNX system). So I have a question about an angle die grinder, another one about dishwasher manufacturers (well, it's a kitchen tool no :headscrat)

Angle grinder:

I don't have any, so I have to buy one, mostly for tiling job, some cuts in the walls (electrical cables), cut in concrete reinforcing bars, only for light construction jobs.
I decided to take a 125mm (5"), I like the "rat tale" type, so I searched a bit, of course I found some Bosch but as I always buy my power tools from them so I decided to try a different brands.

I've selected this Flex L3309 FRG 1010W for 140€

<a href="http://s739.photobucket.com/albums/xx39/cantause/?action=view&current=flex_l3309frg.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx39/cantause/flex_l3309frg.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Would someone know its coo? I've seen somewhere on GJ that some Flex models were imported, I would like if this one is made in Germany?
Is there some good alternative with the same features? AEG? Milwaukee? I'd like something in the 150€ price range, I prefer something lighter than very powerful, I'll buy a 230mm for power, regardless of weight.

Dishwasher:

My mum bought everything for her kitchen except this "washing tool", she wasn't sure about quality, efficiency, and.. which were the best brands.
After some researches we finally selected Bosch and Siemens, I've heard that "they're from the same factory", would someone know a bit more about that?

Browsing their website, it's true that their products are very similar, even some features are named the same so I guess they work together...
Would someone know if one of these two brands is better than the other? I have a preference for Siemens but it's because their website is "easier" to browse than Bosch's (which is a real pain) and it's easier to find web-prices for their current models (I usually find older Bosch models).
As she wants almost every features available in the market, both Bosch and Siemens are pricey so I wanted to know a bit more about this Bosch/Siemens partnership before to order a Siemens...

Thank you for your help!

Broadly true. They're all, along with Neff, made by Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH. They're made in Germany, Spain, Turkey and Poland. As far as I know, only the Polish site's products can be determined from the specs, those all have a plastic, rather than stainless, base to the internal 'tank'.

Ours was made in Germany. We've found Bosch's service engineers to be excellent, which is fortunate, given the unreliability of their products.

Depending on the targeted price range for your appliances Miele might be the better choice over Bosch/Siemens. Within the Bosch/Siemens Joint Venture Neff and Gaggenau have to be considered too, since some of their products (not all!) are developed seperately, targeting the premium range. Anyway Miele would be my first choice.

I had the choice between Bosch and Miele. I went with Bosch for dishwasher, gas cooktop but not the oven (they only do 60ltr - I needed 80! I like my big Christmas Turkey!). Got Miele for the range hood :) Has a lot more suction than the Bosch that I looked at. That all being said the Bosch has been brilliant. The dishwasher does a fantastic job (make sure you get one with the cutlery tray). The Cooktop also works well. Warms up fast and holds heat very nicely. All in all, 6months, no issues at all with any of the appliances.

PS: I would not be surprised if they (Bosch and Miele) were manufactured in China. I may be way out, but it would not surprise me.

The Bosch dishwashers are made in Poland now , they moved from Germany 3-4 years ago.

Good to know. I am happy with blanket "Europe" :) The dishwasher is fantastic. In 6 months I have not pulled out anything with any sign of grime on it. Even on the fast 20min cycle. Things are spotless. I even use it for pots and pans!

I was told by a person at Lowes that their Bosch kitchen accessories were made in North Carolina, USA.

Yes they are, but they're not sold into the European market.

The Bosch dishwashers are made in Poland now , they moved from Germany 3-4 years ago.

Polish production of the economy plastic base GV600 chassis started in Lodz in 2002, but they continue to manufacture the full stainless models at numerous European locations, including Germany.

@Cantause, look at this : http://www2.westfalia.de/shops/werkzeug/werkzeuge_nach_gewerken/dachdecker_/winkelschleifer/

The Flex L3709/125 at 69.99 Euros is imported, probably from Taiwan. The one you're looking for is, i believe made in Germany. Better ask Monte, he knows for sure. Also, did you consider the "SUHNER" grinders ?

http://www.suhner-abrasive-expert.com/site/index.cfm/id_art/33461

Concerning the washing machine, everything branded "Made in Germany" is top notch. I personaly own some Miele products and i'm very happy with them.

Tools or Items that Made in Malaysia is really that bad ? But all Bosch 18V Lithium Ion Battery is Made in Malaysia . Beside that Most of Bosch 12V Power Tools also Made in Malaysia . Actually I seldom use that Bosch 18V Lithium Ion Impact Wrench , just sometime use it for some lugs nuts or screwing screw into wood . If I need to use Impact Wrench everyday , I sure will go for Snap On Cordless Impact Wrench . If Pneumatics , I will go for Ingersoll Rand Air Impact Wrench 1/2in. Drive Thunder Gun

LOL no, but i finally figured out that i can make movies with my camera :D ;)

"Wolfcraft" would be another choice, but dont ask me of their COO, Dremel iirc has something similar (COO Slovenia/Slovakia)

btw would someone have infos on impact sockets standards? I wonder if there is a standard for 1/2 sockets which can hold the 1500Nm torque claimed by the IR2135 ???

You need to buy the special IR sockets made by Alice in Wonderland :)
btw.: Wonder. I wonder too and how they measure torque and why no other manufacturer on the plant earth is even close to that torque, the only companies which claim fantastic supernatural things are IR + SO :)

Angle grinder:

I don't have any, so I have to buy one, mostly for tiling job, some cuts in the walls (electrical cables), cut in concrete reinforcing bars, only for light construction jobs.

I have no experience with cutting slots in (concrete ?) stone but usually you see this tool used for that job. I dont know if 1010 watts are enough ?

The imported Flex models are the 3709 models and the LE9-10. The tools which comes in the design you posted as well as the tools with the old design (e.g. L 1710 FRA) are "original Flex" made in Germany. Angle grinders below 100€ are most likely imported, sometimes there are special sales like the Metabo 8-125 currently on sale for 82.-€ and "Made in Germany".
Next to Bosch, Flex, AEG and Milwaukee there is Makita, Hilti, Suhner, Dewalt + Rupes who also offer 5" "rat-tail" angle grinders (or look for NOS Atlas Copco) but most are out of the price range like the Suhner UWK 10-R which is around 280.-.
Did you already check the different tools "live" in a store ?

Fein don´t have a rat tail grinder but still a thin tail which is comfortable to hold.

Dishwasher:

I have no clue about these things, but i would look into test magazines etc. to see how they scored and check the energy + water consumption etc. The "test winner" Bosch SMI68M35EU scored a 1,6 maybe thats the one to buy :) ?

There wasn't much of a description on Amazon for this screw holding driver. I thought it was slotted, but it's actually a T25. Not something I will ever use but for $1.76 I'll keep it.

I just switched out my Wiha Torx drivers for these PB Swiss drivers.

Could the T15 show PB Swiss' new logo?
