Before you get a Bosch or Siemens dishwasher look at Miele. I have had my Miele dishwasher for 26 years now and it still works great. It is much better than any Bosch machine sold in the USA. It cost more than twice as much as a Bosch, but has been worth the money. I first bought a Miele vacuum 31 years ago and that led to the dishwasher, electric cooktop, electric convection oven, clothes washer and dryer. All appliances are more than 25 years old and still work like new. I highly recommend Miele appliances based upon my personal experience.

It's not a matter of new cars needing tools, it's because a Nano set is super cool in its own right.

you´re right !

Could the T15 show PB Swiss' new logo?

i think its the old logo. Before they became "PB Swiss Tools" they were "PB Baumann". I have this old catalog from 2004, the logos look like on your T15 driver

"Wolfcraft" would be another choice, but dont ask me of their COO, Dremel iirc has something similar (COO Slovenia/Slovakia)

Those adjustable ones are nice. I think i'll get me some of those also.

Nice little clamps! do you know their coo? They're so cheap compared to "regular" Bessey clamp that I'd be surprised if they were made in Germany too...

The tool itself says nothing about COO. Just a bar code, can't find any stamping or such. So i don't think nor did i expect them to be German made. Feels solid (for being plastic) and works good still.

Thank you all for your help, I see more clearly what I want now!

Grinder:
I think that I'll buy with the Flex 3309 FRG, the brands you proposed makes equal/better products but not for the budget I fixed. As I said I want a little multi-purpose tool, lightness is a big plus, the flex is "only" 1000W but only weights 1,9kg, it seems to have all the features I wanted, so if it's german made, the last question have its answer....
I'll keep in mind the brands you've proposed for a more heavy duty 230mm.

@Monte: My brother have one of these tools but I've never used it, I don't know how it will work in my house, walls are in stone (house from 1827), it's much harder than brick and usual concrete. I'll borrow it and make a test, it looks safer than the angel grinder!

Dishwasher:
My mom asked for a few specific features such as cutlery drawer, integrable but not fully integrable (she wants the commands on the panel), less than 45dB and modular drawers. I browsed manufacturer's websites for Bosch and Siemens models, and asked for prices in shops, I didn't see anything under 1000€ (only a Siemens fully integrable on sale for 990€), nothing in stock and salesmen didn't care about what I was asking for so I went back home not really happy and decided to browse online, finally found the cheapest of the selected models for 850€ delivered (cheapest Siemens with cutlery drawer).
After what you told me I browsed again Bosch's website but in Germany, almost all the models are different from the belgian website, the ratio features/money is higher too!
In Belgium the third tray for cutlery can only be found on 1000€+ models but the model that Monte advised (SMI68M35EU) have one, well I think that VarioSchublade is how Bosch call it in Germany, but is not sold in Belgium. I've only found german website on google.be, it seems that some models are specific to a country, or maybe they call it differently...
Anyway I've found a german website selling it for 633€ delivered to Belgium, and it's even better that the Siemens I had selected, the energy class is better!
So thank you all and thank you Monte!

Back on the "real tool" track, it's a good news too because I have a deal with my mom, each time I do a long job at home, I have a new tool related to the job in exchange of the time I spend, slowly I have to borrow less and less tools...
This time I need an angled grinder and a portable saw, but as the she wanted a dishwasher a bit more pricey than expected I said I'd go for a Bosch portable saw instead of a Festool.
But as we're back in the budget for the dishwasher, I can still take the Festool!

Exactly
It's a clever condensate of tools, ready to help when you need it, not especially for your car (other people's car less reliable than yours and without a Nano set in the trunk!).
It's so small and cute, you can take it everywhere, to the cinema, in the shower, in the plane... It's definitely THE accessory if you want to be "IN"!
Just as the Bosch mini cordless driver, it should be part of the basic "purse set" of a decent girlfriend, I have a Valentine's day gift idea now :D

I guess the grinder will serve you well, i don´t know if the others are better or worse, but for 139.- i think the price is good and if you have a fixed COO then most competitors like Makita, Milwaukee/AEG, Dewalt are out of question anyway. Metabo don´t offer rat tail grinders anymore. Bosch + Suhner is a whopping 100 bucks more so only Flex remains :)

try it, maybe it works, but you need a angle grinder anyway :)

Dishwasher:

The price seems to be good (delivered) They start around 550 here
http://www.preissuchmaschine.de/in-Geschirrspueler/60-cm-Breite/Bosch-SMI68M35EU.html
But you probably already saw that website ;)

nice deal... :bowdown::thumbup:

Festool Kapex ?
Maybe we can find a dishwasher at a even lower price and then you can buy the large angle grinder too and a jigsaw and plunge saw and.... :D ;)

Thanks, I thought about Miele, we replaced a 30+ year old Miele washing machine about 2 years ago with a new Miele, it still worked great but when the belt broke down, it was an excuse to buy something more efficient :)
The price difference here in Europe is not as high, usually around 20% higher than a similar Bosch product...
However a friend have an high-end Miele dishwasher since last year and he told us he wasn't very impressed, especially the drying which is so-so... It's the reason why I didn't look further and also because this is a temporary kitchen during the transformations of the house, the final kitchen should be ready in 3-4years so we try to keep the budget reasonable, these appliances don't have to last a life time...

The tool itself says nothing about COO. Just a bar code, can't find any stamping or such. So i don't think nor did i expect them to be German made. Feels solid (for being plastic) and works good still.

Thanks, for the price it was predictable, however if they're well made it's good!
It looks like the kind of small tools you use often once you have some.

I

I meant a circular saw, so I want to go for a TS55...
I already have a metabo mitre saw, not as fancy as a Kapex but not the same budget :)

I'm not sure my mom will agree to wash plates by hand just to have better tools :D
I'll do some other jobs for the next tools ;)

Btw, how do you like the Flex "rat tail" handle?

Nice hammer !!! Never heard of KBS.

rückschlagfrei = recoilless

I think it looks like the hammer is made by Halder www.halder.de
Looks like a Halder Supercraft
I only wonder about the "swiss made" ?

Here a pic from the Halder catalog

the 50mm version, with extra sleeve on the handle like the KBS hammer

rubber handle looks identical too. PB also makes no steel handle recoilless hammers.

Just came across this post and others asking about Halder hammers. As an employee of Halder, Inc. -- the North American office for our parent company in Germany -- I can answer any questions about our top-quality striking tools. The hammer pictured here is our dead blow (non-rebound) Supercraft model. Without question, this is the finest dead blow hammer anywhere. The Supercraft hammer is manufactured at our hammer plant in Switzerland, formerly KBS.

The Supercraft is durable and economical, and packs a wallop of a punch! Faces are made of extremely tough, non-marring nylon, and easily replaceable when/if you ever need new faces. AND...Halder press fit faces are a much more dependable and safer alternative to other dead blow products that feature "screw-in" faces. After the threads break down (very quickly in many applications), the tips need replacing regularly.

If anyone wants to get more information about Halder's wide range of striking tools, please visit www.halder.com and click on the Mallets picture. Our office is located in Waukesha, WI -- just outside of Milwaukee -- and our phone no. is 262-521-2050.

So is this Swiss made?

http://www.halder.de/produkte/artgr...9&g=48&intas=1&s=uk&menu=296&submenu=products

I was looking at getting a Husqvarna hatchet but might go with this if the price is right.

What would you use the axe for? I highly reccomend considering options from Finland or Sweden for the outdoors. I got my Dad a Gransfors Bruks and it was a beautiful tool. Used to be priced very fairly, too. Also, Finnish puukko knives are typically excellent.

Proud to say that by accident I spotted the COA on my 6mth old Bosch dishwasher. "Made in Germany" - rather happy about that one and I offer up my humble apologies to Sir Robert Bosch for doubting (him).

PS: @Monte: it would make a terrific parts washer for some of my dirty greasey car parts :)

Re: Tools from the old world - Travel Sets

The Facom R2 Nano is a great set for motorcycle trips but with much more room in the car, this mixed drive set is the one I'd recommend...

I have to agree on Gränsfors being an excellent choice if is a work tool that is in question. They are not gimmicky shiny display objects, but something that has proven durable and practical by swedish lumberjacks for many years. Not saying that there are not other brands like that also though.

I'm raised with Mora knifes, and would also consider those the most utilitarian knife for the outdoors. The range of styles and brands of puukko knifes makes it hard to make a general statement, but there sure are some great ones.

Counted the teeth, should be 52 teeth. The ratchet looks nice and is really small. The black gearwheel at the top of the head is useful and easy to handle with one finger. Moreover if you own something like Gedore 673 K, the world smallest 1/4" ratchtet ever will be yours. Removing the 4mm Bit adapter from the ratchtet is hell. But the bit handle will be enough (and faster) in most of the cases. My main reason to purchase the set was to collect some 4mm bits, because i didn't owned any. Why did you bought the ratchets?

Thank you for your answer epiphany, I almost agree with you on everything you said; I only disagree with the smallest 1/4" ratchet; this one is 90 mm. while Wera's one being 87 mm. :)

This Gedore 673K bit is quite usual, I have up to 4 but from other brands, two from a china's noname box of screwdrivers bits, another one from a Bosch (from China too) screwdriver with its bits, and the last (and best) from my Wera Bit Ratchet.

In the both I bought, I have counted 52 teeth, too. I find it very nice to hold, much better than the Wera counterpart, which I don't like that much to use; the Wera has 60 teeth and the black gearwheel isn't as nice to operate than Gedore's one. Removing the bits is nicer on the Wera.

I also bought Gedore 420 adapter, for inserting 4mm. bits, and it is completly different from the one on Gedore's website, and hasn't got any magnet in it -has a magnet yours?

Another question epiphany, how many faces/sides are on your ratchet?
I ask you this because the pair of ratchets I got where a bit different one to the other, while one was the typical 1/4" with hexagonal form, the other had twelve faces; and the sides of the handle were a bit more rounded in the one with 12 faces.
Pictures coming in.

I bought two Gedore, one for my brother and the other for me, because I already own the Wera and don't like it so much (so beautiful, but not so easy to use), I needed it for those screws you cannot drive with an usual screwdriver. And the 4mm. bits I already had for when I need to change the batteries of a watch (seldom do I have to do so) or disassemble something with little screws.

The Bosch jigsaw blades (and most blades of the world - just look at the "swiss made") as well as other "accessories" and electric tools are made in the Bosch/Scintilla factories in Solothurn and St. Niklaus switzerland (1200 employees) www.scintilla.ch

Sorry Monte, but just read this on another post (dating back to Febraury 2010); I just wanted to ask you something.
If I remember well, Bauhaus has a brand called "Craftomat" that "makes" many things, and one of them are jigsaw blades; and I think they were made in Switzerland.
So do you think those blades can be made by Bosch?
Do you think they must be good quality?
Thank you.

The first one looks great, but that price...

The second one looks like a real allround practical tool. I use Moras varieties but similar models.

I need it for clearing roots to put a fence up. Also I'm fairly certain Husqvarna is made by Gransfors Bruks.

I think Hultafors makes Husqvarnas axes. Nothing bad with that though, also a great manufacturer.

I paid less than half that. On both...

The red handled is ugly but fantastic.

I'd encourage you Fiskars guys to get your hands on a GB. I have played with both and they are in very different leagues (and priced differently).

ah ok i thought miter saw etc....
With Festool or Mafell circular saws (+ jig saws) you can´t go wrong, best saws in the universe.

I'm not sure my mom will agree to wash plates by hand just to have better tools :D
I'll do some other jobs for the next tools ;)

:D ;)

Btw, how do you like the Flex "rat tail" handle?

It´s ok, not as ergonomic as the AEG/Milwaukee/Atlas Copco handle though, but a lot better than non rat tail grinders, especially when you grind for a longer period of time.

I made a video for you :) of the Atlas grinder, i dont have a car to polish right now :) but a Flex video will follow in 2011 :D

do it ! :D :D ;)

very nice tools !!! I like the clamps ! :)

I used to have a tyre lever that looked like that.

It didn't look like that when i bought it but it did after i was finished with it!

Yes i think they say "Swiss made" on the blade and some "Made in Germany" I´m not 100% sure but i believe that the "swiss made" blades are from Bosch. At least i couldn´t find a jig saw blade manufacturer in switzerland except Bosch. So i wouldn´t hesitate to buy them. Can´t be bad :)
btw: the "Craftomat" drill bits are from germany too, made by "Koch Bohrer"

I recently bought the new style Cobras to replace my older ones. The older ones are still in great shape but I'm trying to build a second set of tools for at home so it was a good excuse to buy the new ones..

The new ones open wider for a given size and have a finer adjustment. Enjoy, Knipex fiends:

I think you´ll like Proxxon tools better than Dremel

Heres my first GJ video review(I think I made a picking video for here once...)

Today i used my IB/E, and i don't regret my choice. When i first unpacked it, it was smaller than i had thought, but not in a bad way. It fits great in the hand, and is comfortable to hold for a longer period working. The noise is really low, and the power under load is good.

The placement of the on/off switch and the speed adjuster is not so practical though.

The bench holder i also ordered had one flaw, it was to small for my bench... I will have to bolt it to the bench if i want to use it.

sweet !!!!!!!!

@ Monte Craftsman has some Swiss made jigsaw blade sets and the small set looks just like your set from Parkside and heres the larger one.

which looks just like the one from Bosch.

ha !!! Another source for swiss Bosch blades !
Interesting to see where you can find these blades and with which names on the blades......

Ohhhh Monte, you are awesome, you have even looked at lidl.es and found this offer ; thank you very much.
I have this jigsaw coming and I'm thinking of getting a pair of those Lidl packs, and one set of screwdrivers for 6€ (just to see how they are)
What do you people think about the jigsaw?

 they just sold them here in germany a couple of days ago so i thought why not look at their spanish site :) ;)
nice jig saw ! A bit heavy though (if you work a lot from the "underside") but other than that it should be a very nice saw !

This posted elsewhere on the Nepros thread, but thought I'd stick it here, too. Lovely stuff.

beautiful tools !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drool::drool::drool:

The bench holder i also ordered had one flaw, it was to small for my bench... I will have to bolt it to the bench if i want to use it.

nice tool !! btw.: Your bench is too thick ! :D :D ;) j/k

btw: made a combination pliers video :)

<b><u>Sunflag (Japan) 4 Way Offset Screwdriver</u></b>

I bought this screwdriver late last week on eBay for $12.94 (includes shipping).

Instead of a magnet, the internal ball securely holds the included 30mm, 1/4" insert bits and standard 25mm, 1/4" insert bits:

Here is a comparison shot of the total length of the screwdriver with a 30mm or 25mm screwdriver bit installed:

On top of the Sunflag screwdriver, a Craftsman #2 phillips offset screwdriver is shorter in total length:

For the tightest spots, an Anex #2 phillips slim offset screwdriver is way shorter than the Sunflag screwdriver:

If you want to purchase the above Sunflag screwdriver, click on this link:

Monte....No Facom combination pliers? Just found a box of old "Black series" Facom pliers I forgot were here (made in France). I also have some Wiha units I like.
