Kamasa is Swedish brand and tools themself are far from Sweden.

I bet that the W-Ger. Kamasa of yours, and my unnamed wrenches are from same source.

What does it read on other side? W-Germany Kamasa has mirror polished openbox sides edges are sand blasted.

No markings or brand name on otherside. The "Chrom-vanadium"-text appears to be same kind and finishing looks similar. My wrenches have no polished surfaces though.

The hammer drill is swiss, the impact drive is Malaysian
Thanks for the answer..I'm very interested with Swiss made Bosch..one more question how much do you pays for Swiss made Bosch & what your personal opinion about their performances?

Thanks! Next time I will take more pictures.
:thumbup::thumbup::beer:

Crab, made in Japan.
Nice adjustable wrench looks like old tools where you got it?

here you can´t either :) most of everything = import.
Some german made jig saw blades will be available in the local "Aldi" food stores in march for 2.99€ though :)

it´s ok, it also looks good and is well made, but the ratcheting could be smoother. I have a Bahco which works smoother, similar like the Wera. So i think i would buy the Wera nowadays.
Thanks I'm very appreciated your professional opinion..now I know which one to go..

exactly
btw: nice wrenches + all the newer Bosch cordless drills are made in malaysia afaik
Yes!! ;)

Nice old tools collection congratulation!!!

Well, I got a pleasant surprise today. I received my Facom No.40 combo wrench set and while I was waiting for matt finish set it was the same partially polished look my old Facom No. 40 18mm was. And they also feel the same as the old wrench. I bought the 18mm used some 20 years ago. Got a good deal for a set and decided to get some more. There is a packing error though, there is 2pcs of 8mm wrenches but no 10mm wrench. Already contacted the company I bought them from and they at once told me they are going to send me the missing 10mm wrench
Nice wrenches set:eyecrazy: especially your 18mm wrench:D

Here is Bahco PU and some of desing through years.
great comparison pics thanks to share:beer:

Many of my tools are from my dad. I believe that wrench is made in 80's or 90's.

I have to check out our summer cottage for old tools, there might be some from 50's to 80's!

Hmm... ran into "Ironside" brand in one of our bigger hardware stores today. There was loads of Ironside -tools and kits but only one line had COO on the packaging: the wrenches. Was a bit surprised, was expecting China all the way.

Anybody know who actually makes them?

@TonyCH : What is the price tag on this tool "Ironside"? It seems to me - it is something cheap?

Monte, thank you for those videos. Probably the best video so far that shows the forging and the various manufacturing processess of making hand tools, and of course, the skilled craftsmen that make them.

Very cool photos of some old Bahco tools.

Another trip to Lee Valley and snapped a few things of interest.

First one is not Old World, but Canadian content. Gloves made out of 100% Dupont kevlar, and it's made in Canada by Superior Gloves

Second picture is Autosol metal polish. I've seen this brand sold for many years in Canada, but I've yet to try it. Made in Germany.

Third picture is Swiss content: A Swiss made SIGG water bottle

Anybody know who actually makes them?

No idea, I could not find information on the WEB, I do not know that kind of policies to market products have in your country but if it were a warehouse in Costa Rica, I can say with certainty that this is a typical product made in CHINA together with advertising misleading.

Although, as suggested by RUSIK, the price could be a good parameter (if not altered)

My car set reloaded ;) almost all the tools are from old world: Tona, Wiha, Felo, Zbirovia, Meister, Fiskars, Victorinox, some Lux Tools, and some China, of course ... There is everything I can need in every situation - just take a look ;)

At this point I can not imagine what else could be included  Excellent!!!

First one is not Old World, but Canadian content. Gloves made out of 100% Dupont kevlar, and it's made in Canada by Superior Gloves

Interesting, I was watching the information on the company that makes these gloves.

@TonyCH : What is the price tag on this tool "Ironside"? It seems to me - it is something cheap?
I went back and had another look at them as i didn't look at prices yesterday. Their stuff doesn't actually look bad at all.

Pricing example: If we take a 13mm combo wrench and known German makes they usually cost about 7-9 euros a piece (Gedore, Stahlwille, Hazet). Ironside is 4.20 euros. So, way cheaper. Finish was quite nice if you like non polished. But who makes them?

I looked at their other stuff too. Most had no COO on the box or product. I got a Taiwan -feeling about them - so pretty good quality and most likely not chinese. But there was other product lines that had Made in Germany on the box: screwdrivers and pliers. Screwdrivers actually look familiar - maybe somebody can identify them?

Here is few more photos.

I have some "Ironside" tools at work (company owned), the screwdrivers, wrenches and sockets aren´t too bad but I have broken quite a few ratchets over the years and the pliers are DIY-tools.
Bought a 1/2" dr sae socket set to have as a compliment at home, I can look for a COO and take some photos if anyone´s interested.

No, I didn't buy any - I was just checking them out. They are clearly an agent who source things from many many makers. I'll bet they don't make anything themselves. But, this is how the world works nowadays with even the best brands - more or less.

I did check several of the pliers and every one I picked up was made in germany. Didn't check the locking pliers though. Maybe next time.

Yes, their ratchets and sockets were normal far east stuff with no COO markings. I didn't spend much time looking at them. And I see I didn't take any good photos either.

made in taiwan, didn't got the chance of using them. The ratchet wrenches on the other hand have a 'gedore quality label' and are great. with a pipe on it as extension and they survived :)

I'm still using Ironside hand tools I bought in Moscow in 1996.

Ironside Phillips #2 screwdriver is my EDC tool since that time.

They are exceptional quality tools.

So they are definitely German. The only difference is that yours shows that are made in Germany, but in any case, according to your view and that of TonyCH they are tools of good quality.

Well, I haven't actually used any - just spotted them in a hardware store. But, they do say made in Germany and they did look ok to me - I mean much better than the Chinese made in house brand they also had. And as the price is low compared to other German brands I would not have problem buying them if I was on budget.

Sure, I understand, usually we can only assess the quality with the use, or by expert judgments (such as information provided by Monte of analyzes performed in this magazine ... oldtimer-markt, if I remember correctly), but , we often just make a brief analysis to have at least the certainty that they are quality. I appreciate your opinion

it seems it´s a french importer/distributor of hand tools etc.

like usually ...same with brands like "Lux" or "Connex"...pliers + screwdrivers from germany, socketry imported....seems to be too expensive to make them here. And imported pliers are often not that great...

Im quite sure those screwdrivers are made by Felo.
Picture below is made by Monte a few years ago, don't you remember? :lol_hitti
yes i remember them ;) i see them at least once or twice a month when i visit the store. Besides the shape of the yellow part they look very similar so i would guess Felo too.

new and better quality pics,
