That isn't going to happen if I have to send it back to Germany every 1000 operations to get it calibrated...:(

I wonder if it just flashes "cal" in between operation or if it shuts down the functionality of the tool altogether until you get it calibrated?

A lot of modern electronic test equipment does this and it can be painful.

couldn´t find a instruction manual so can´t say more....
the regular Wiha torque screwdrivers are already € 120 + bucks so I´m out :)

I guess you could own two and use the other one while you get one sent away and calibrated. :)

good idea ;)

No, but I went to all 3 you had given the address to. Very similar to Home Depot but smaller. Saw the lux tools at OBI. Met Jens and brought back a lot of Hazet stuff. He is a very nice guy highly recommend him.

I thought you come back with a bunch of the "Lux" NWS pliers :)

My hardware dealer got the WERA JOKER on Tuesday this week:

Thanks !! I´m looking to play around with the wrenches without buying them ;)

They arrived last week, but until now had time for photos:

Hazet 450N (6X7, 8X9, 10X11, 12X13, 14X15, 17X19)

100_4813.JPG

Hazet 600N (10MM, 12MM, 14MM) possibly buy: 11 and 17mm

100_4819.JPG

Ridgid screwdriver, had already posted the picture, someone had asked for a better image

100_4815.JPG

I honestly had forgotten the excellent design of HAZET wrenches. They are very light, thin, but extremely strong and indeed usually longer than most. In fact laughable to compare the thickness of these with my set Craftsman (which in my opinion are extremely sturdy), but we are talking about HAZET so even if you had not used before they could be trusted completely. In fact this weekend I will post images to compare :)

Got back yesterday from a weeks trip to Cologne. I visited Remscheid and took a trip by the Gedore factory and visited their store.

Picked up the Gedore combination ratchet spanners R-012 and UR-012 which I've wanted for a while to add to my collection and a few other bits.

Nicer set than the Beta ones and prefer the textured finish.

those jumper cables are looking nice - need a new set but cant find a source for irimo stuff :/

read it several times in the past that knipex might have some issues with their finish now I experienced it myself when I bought a Knipex Cobra for a friend.

my older example is fine but this one has a sharp edge - definatly not something that you would expect from those pliers.

The UR-012 set was 174.99 and R-012 143.28 euros.

Was nice to see a reasonable amount of their range on display. They also stock/sell some Makita and Famag gear.

GEDORE

one of my all-time favourite brands, on par with HAZET, but more biased to mechanical/electrical production industry.

GEDORE B 1500L work bench with drawers and a huge shutter for storage:
A very sturdy bench (1500mm wide ; i.e: appr. 5 foot) with quality drawers and an easily operatable shutter, 40mm (i.e.: more than 1 1/2") multiplex on top. Heavy enough to be a movers nightmare.

GEDORE new tool trolley 1506 XL with double bay drawers and the new GEDORE GuSTaV in front of it:
Double bay, an old hat for the US brands, nevelty over here in EUROPE.
GuSTaV is clamed to be an undestroyable sledge hammer.
Acc. to DIN 1.2 metric tons of pulling power are to be withstood to pass the hammer head separation test. They had to stop the test at Germany's reputated tool testing institute , the VPA in Remscheid at almost 14 (in words fourteen!) metric tons as the rubber cladding of the shaft gave way.
(annotation: GuSTaV is short for Gummi-Stahl-Version, i.e: Rubber-Steel-Version, I may presume they choose the German abbreviation over the English one for a reason)

GEDORE ratchet range display:
All sizes and versions for all needs (had a GEDORE 1/2" ratchet in my hands for several years as a professional and never any regrets about that ratchet, was built tough as a hammer, never dared to use it as one though)

GEDORE tool trolley 1604 XL with full width top drawer and front door:
again an old hat for US brands, but new for European standards,
(btw. a TANOS Systainer (294mm wide), as well as a SORTIMO L-boxx (slightly wider) will fit behind that front door.

Annotation:
the GEDORE heavy load wheels on these tool trolleys are exceptionally sturdy and I would rate them higher as my beloved HAZET brand ones.

There is no coo on the tool but i think it is made by "Nusharp"
http://kk0160.handtool.org.tw/T5004...dId=64660&y_HrefId=7135&y_CompId=216&&y_MuId=

It cuts very good and you can adjust the opening size from small to large with the small lever. The blades are finished good (very sharp) the handles look "ok". If the price is right i maybe would buy them again :)

Well GEDORE has definitely the better tool boxes than Hazet and they also be innovative...best special tools (KLANN), best Hammer overall (HABERO)...and they have flex head fine tooth ratchets...something what heavily miss by HAZET.

Bought some new tools this week, among them this original Volkswagen UIS puller set. Can not find a cheaper one ...cost me around 56€.

Next 2 specially Hazet sockets to spreat front struts. The bit looks like a clutch bit?!
scaled.php

And a set tor remove the back silent block at VAG fronst axles. The brand is "Condor" a german "we import stuff from china" company...but seriously it has a pretty good quality, better than the original VW stuff and for 88€ cheaper as Klann and Hazet (200 and more). With some WD40 and Anti Size Service it will work for many years.

I think Rennsteig (over here at least) has the best prices, Gedore has sometimes sets on sale too ("Gedore Magic" Aktion), Peddinghaus might be imported and Hazet quite expensive ... PB Swiss would be a idea too :)

Actually I'm looking for a good chisel for my daily tasks..Rennteig, Gedore, PB Swiss & Hazet already in my list but I'm not going to buy all of this...honestly + professionally what you prefer?
As you mention PB Swiss + Hazet quite expensive..I guess a quality is very good..
Rennteig offer a very good prices but a quality...
Gedore maybe good but I'm not sure a COO..looking for Germany, Swiss, or France made:thumbup:
or anyone have a good suggestions + opinion + experiences to share about chisel???

in the past they also sold german made power tools.
you could check out Lidl too, sometimes they sell swiss made jig saw and recip blades.

I just score 2 sets of german made drill bits, one metal and one mason at aldi sud under the workfzobe brand. They came out monday.

Gedore chisels and punches = Made in germany

The Rennsteig punches that I bought are ok in my opinion but I only used em once (bought just some weeks ago). Next week I will receive my stahlwille punches but I guess they came from the same factory as the gedore stuff.

by the way - rennsteig produces two qualitys a standard and a better quality

French made: you could look for Muller and Racodon if available (or Facom of course) Don´t know about the quality though. Gedore = Germany. But i don´t know which quality they are now, several years ago they sold 3 types of chisels: "Gedore" brand in blue paint, "Habero" in gold and "Habero serie 2000 " (and "Dako" brand chisels too...) So i don´t know which quality/type you get if you buy Gedore nowadays ?
I have some Rennsteig chisels which are "ok", nothing special, i think my PB swiss chisel is a little bit better. Like Phobo mentioned Rennsteig has a higher line of punches which are called "Exclusive" and are 9% harder iirc:
http://www.rennsteig.com/en/products/tools/striking-tools/parallel-pin-punches.html
I have several different brands among them "Format" brand which are made by Kuhbier (www.werkzeugfabrik-kuhbier.de) they´re nice too (but only have used punches)

I just score 2 sets of german made drill bits, one metal and one mason at aldi sud under the workfzobe brand. They came out monday.

nice ! pics ? :)
Unfortunately they don´t sell them up here in the north :(

came home to find this interesting looking box had arrived.....

IMG_0359.jpg

whats in here i wonder ........

IMG_0360.jpg

ah my order from Jens :D

just a few bits and pieces

IMG_0362.jpg

190L-1 tool tray, handy for when i need to work away from my box (often have to as the garage i work for has two workshops, and the one I'm in is away from the main building)

seems pretty sturdy, has an extruded aluminum handle, also slots into the side cabinet of some hazet assistants, so once i get one.....

next, same as Skin posted a 197-3 parts bowl not much else to say about it :p

and lastly a Hazet 2157-1 folding utility knife, pretty nice, has a quick change blade holder, and storage in the handle (maybe these are common on this type of knife, but never owned anything bar the old style "Stanley knife" utility knifes (side note utility knives get called Stanley knives here in the uk) pretty well made and well weighted, not sure on the coo tho

IMG_0365.jpg

IMG_0364.jpg

IMG_0366.jpg

I also got another Wiha screwdriver handled bottle opener as i gave the last one to a friend who was admiring it  no point in posting a pic as i did erlier

From the guy on eBay Germany? (starflight7?) I bought the same set from him, cheaper than through VW! Awesome set, works a treat. There's also an attachment for 2.0 TDIs:

Also awesome, i have a set and they make it so easy. No more struggling with chisels or anything like that. Working on E39 front suspensions is soooo much easier with them, horrible without.

Yes! PB Swiss is one of my dreams chisel..good looking chisel & punches set, very nice finish. After read your opinion + experience about PB Swiss chisel, I'm very confident to list it at the top.

I have several different brands among them "Format" brand which are made by Kuhbier (www.werkzeugfabrik-kuhbier.de) they´re nice too (but only have used punches)
Format...consider add to my list:D

If you have opportunity can you please post all your chisel + punches PICS collection;)

@moose

yeah that special attachment...have seen it by the guys for VW "cars" I work for VW LCV (Crafter, T5s etc).

No I bought it for myself and not over ebay, the shop is called XXL Werkzeuge....checked the price to purchase it directly over VW...10€ less...but my boss knows nothing about tools and if i ask him...he will just response with "what is that?"

SAUER also offers a complete set for all UIEs, have also bought those plastic bushings for the o rings (original VW) for ~15€...not really needed but handy if have them.

Can you check your puller again, my one has SPX printed on it...the puller at the VW shop has not such a branding?!

@Rusik

You bought it new??? Is says "made in W.Germany"...must be over 20 years old...anything else would be discrimination to the east guys (called "ossis")
